Yolanda's was going out of business when I bought my dress, but they were still very professional, and organized! They brought me into a clean, private room where my mother and mother-in-law could sit. She asked me what style I wanted and what I was looking for in a dress. The first one she brought out, I fell in love with...I bought a $1400 dress for $900....They were so courteous! I hope she reopens!

My dress came in and it had fraying coming out of every seam. The lady who worked there told me it was normal and that it what alterations were for. I took the dress and went to a different dress shop to have them look at it. She said that the dress was in horrible condition and in no way was that "normal". I went back to Yolanda's where they gave me a very difficult time. I, obviously, wanted a different dress. They wanted me to get the same dress. After explaining that the same problem was likely to occur again, they let me choose a different dress from the same designer. Ultimately, I loved the dress I got but the process was stressful and difficult.

Every bride wants to find THE dress that makes them feel beautiful and confident. Somehow, I fell in love with a dress online. I had high hopes that this dress would be the one for me. I knew Yolanda's was the bridal salon to go to in the Boston area, so I called to make an appointment and I asked if they had the dress, knowing that none of the other places I called did. Luckily, they did and I was excited!. I was a little intimadated since it was my first time trying on dresses, but I was immediately welcomed and put at ease by my consultant Jayne. We chatted about my style and what I was looking for, and I showed her the dress. She brought it back to my room with other dresses to try on. The second I put it on, I knew this was it. It was Jim Hjelm 8800 and it felt made for me. I was ecstatic. I was told it would take 4-6 months to come in, but to my surprise it arrived within 1 month! The dress was expensive, but I knew going in how much Jim Hjelm costs, and Yolanda's price was competitive. Yolanda actually gave me 15% since I bought it on my first trip.

Two months before the wedding, I scheduled my alterations appointment. Maria Viola did my alterations and she was so talented and so sweet. My dress did not need much work, but the lace was very delicated. She hemmed it significantly, raised the straps, and we did a 5 point traditional bustle. It was done in 3 appointments (initial, then I went and the hem was pinned and the bustle was pinned to make sure it was perfect, and the final time to pick it up). Maria was so kind. She made me feel so beautiful. She helped me get it in the car and everything!

So to sum it up, I went to Yolanda's and had a fabulous experience. I got the dress I dreamed about for the expected price. I had an easy alterations experience, and most importantly, they made me feel comfortable and beautiful.

I went to Yolanda's because, at the time, was the only store in Massachusetts that carried Monique Lhuillier. When I first entered the store, I thought the decor was hilarious (and not in a good way). I had been to many other salons in New York and Boston, and this was by far and away the most tacky and "bridal" of all these places - tulle, rhinestones and bright green carpeting everywhere. It was impersonal and felt like a cheesy wedding factory. I was also ignored by staff when I tried to check in for my appointment for a good 20 minutes. I tried on dresses in a room the size of a shoebox! The only reason I bought the dress was because the ML sales rep was there to help (it was a trunk show). The Yolanda's sales person had literally no knowledge on the dresses I was trying on. While my first appointment was obviously not great, I still fell in love with a dress and bought it on the spot, thanks to the discount being offered because it was a trunk show day. I would have no complaints about Yolanda's in general once I bought the dress. They were helpful and always assisted me quickly when I came in for alterations. The woman who did my alterations was perfect and did a standout job. Overall I would say if you are looking for a great shopping experience, look elsewhere, as the store is sort of in disarray, but in the end they gave me a great dress, so I can't really complain.

This is an above average salon. It has large fitting rooms and eager attendants. The dress selection was broad and the attendants knew just which types you were looking for. Alterations were a bit pricey and they took my dress is a bit too much. Luckily I was able to go without a corset and the dress still zipped up. I LOVED my dress but was a bit frustrated by how much they took it in. Just be careful when altering.

I had been to Country Weddings in Hingham and the people there were very nice & helpful- I am petite and they showed me how the dresses would look on me based on my height. If they had a wider selection I would have had no problem buying my dress there.

I went to Yolanda’s because of the wide selection, However my salesperson was not the best & it took a while for her to understand what I was looking for... fould a dress I loved & Yolanda fitted me herself & spouted about how she was friends with the designer & would request a hand-drawn sketch of the dress to be made for me. 6 months later - my dress came in too tight, straps too short & they told me I must have gained weight unbenownst to me. They let out the lining a little bit & ordered new straps & the dress was not cut how the sample was - probably b/c I am short - but they should have showed me how it really would have fit. So i was not a happy camper.

Communication was poor, after 2 months waiting for the new straps I finally called after not hearing from them, my saleswoman said she had called 2 weeks ago... yea well IF she had - then why didn't she try again?

2 months to go I was exercising for an hour at least every night & I lost close to 10 pounds – which was good for me because I looked better than I did when I first ordered the dress and in the end it was even a bit loose on me.

I had no issues with the alteration department, they did not charge me for alterations even when they hemmed the dress up a little bit. Although it didn’t fit me like I had imagined, in the end it worked out great & I felt good about it.

I went there to find my wedding gown. The building was very old with older, grumpy ladies running the place. I didn't like the fact that you can't pick the gown you want to try yourself. They just put you in a room with a lady and you have to describe her what kind of gown you are looking for. Then she brings 5 gowns to try. I didn't like most of them and felt bad asking her to go and get some more. I would have liked to pick my gowns myself....

The service was great at first: Yolanda herself took one look at me and told me she "had my dress." And she was right: it was perfect, she really knows her stuff. However, as time went on, the responsiveness dwindled. I scheduled an appointment to see Yolanda again to discuss veils and she never showed up...which was unfortunate because I live out of state and flew in for the appointment. I never saw her again, actually. The whole store feels very snobby, and like an enormous complex: if you want to walk in with nothing and walk out with the entire wedding planned, this is your one-stop-shop, but it feels kind of like a Wedding Mill. They run a tight ship, but it seems difficult for them to grasp individual issues and concerns, your service isn't exactly personal. The seemstress was nice. However, I would say that it is probably cheaper and perhaps better to get alterations done elsewhere: I paid nearly 1/2 the price of the dress for alterations that, in the end, were a half-size too big and I ended up pulling up my wedding dress the whole night and noticing that it seemed "bunchy" in the wedding photos. What an expensive let-down.

I was very pleased with my experience at Yolanda's. Like many brides, I tried on a lot of wedding gowns before selecting the "one" for my wedding. My mother, maid of honor and I went to several boutiques and even outlets looking for the right dress. The problem was...that there were 3 different styles at various shops which we liked equally. I walked into my appointment at Yolanda's feeling a bit skeptical. Trying on gowns can be overwhelming at the smallest shop...and Yolanda's is anything but small.

To begin, I described the 3 styles (lace sheath, vintage lace jacket over a simple satin dress, or a full gown with a pickup skirt) that I liked to Katie, my assigned consultant. I also brought pictures from bridal magazines. I told her that I felt conflicted since the 3 looks were so different but I couldn't decide on the look that I wanted. She was very understanding and asked a few more questions about what I was looking for. Then she came back with a selection of gowns.

Katie handed me the first gown and said, "I know this isn't exactly what you asked for...but when you described the 3 looks that you could not choose between...I thought of this dress. Let me know what you think." The dress was stunning...and it combined the elements of the 3 different styles that I liked beautifully. I remember walking out of the dressing room and just looking at my mother. We were both speechless. Katie handed me the perfect gown with her first selection...a gown that I did not think could possibly exist.

All of the staff at Yolanda's was equally as helpful and professional. Throughout the process (fittings, payments, and picking up the gown) they were knowledgeable and gracious. Their expertise is evident and they have a vast selection. I always felt pampered at Yolanda's...even when I popped in quickly after the gym looking a mess! You can't go wrong with a bridal shop that partners with other wedding vendors...odds are good that you will see accessories that you like, get ideas for invitations or even be able to taste a wedding cake and take a sample home after your appointment.

I would recommend to any bride-to-be that you arrive at Yolanda's having tried on gowns elsewhere beforehand so that you can narrow your search. Because of their tremendous selection, they are a great place to find just the right dress...but don't overwhelm yourself by going there with no ideas as to what you want.

I had a great experience at Yolanda's. I worked with several people but Remma was the woman who found my dress for me--she listened to what I wanted and was honest in her opinions--she wasn't just out to make the sale. I bought my dress and veil at Yolandas...I spent more on the dress than I was planning on, but I LOVED it. And I got the veil at 50% off--they do have good sales! My wedding attire will always be my most favorite outfit of all time! Christina was the seamstress who did all the alterations, and despite a funky thing that the manufactures did to my dress, her work was impeccable. I was very nervous after my sister had a bad alteration experience (at a different store) and Christina put all my fears to rest. Check out Yolandas!!

I felt that Yolanda's had great service and I found a beautiful dress that was not too pricey at all. I had heard that this vendor was on the expensive side but, for my dress at least, I found that it was very reasonable. I saw similar dresses at other shops for a similar price. However, accessories and other services, such as alterations, did seem to be more expensive here than at other places. I looked for a veil here but they were all very expensive, even the ones that were plain. I'd definitely go for the huge selection of dresses, though - they have all price ranges.

I had the hardest time ever picking a dress that I found to be timeless. This gown shop was filled with wonderful options! My dress was amazing but the service was a little rough. The women who sold me my dress the second time I went there... I never spoke to again after that. Even when Diane would see me at the shop she didn't say hi or anything. This place is kind of snobby... but I will say that the seamstresses are wonderful! Maria and the other women doing the fittings and alterations were out of this world. I would deal with the attitude from the other employees all over again just to be able to work these women.

Yolanda's gets mixed reviews. I can only write about my experience and I had a positive one at their sample sale. The salesperson helping me (Darlene) only pulled dresses that fit my criteria and even discouraged me from trying on another gown I saw that was more expensive. I was shopping by myself so she offered to take a photo for me with my cell phone so I could get a 2nd opinion. I thought this was a nice gesture because a lot of bridal shops didn't allow me to take photos. I love my silk and Swarovski dress. It was on sale for over 75% off so the price ended up being good for me, although normally this place can charge an arm and a leg. The only inconvenience I had here was that I was not given the matching bolero that came with my dress and had to make a special trip to the store to pick it up. Overall a great experience for me, however, Yolanda's is officially closing its doors.

This is an upscale bridal salon. I had a beautiful silk gown - well worth the money.

When I got engaged I knew what kind of wedding dress I wanted. I never thought I'd buy my dress at Yolanda's as they're thought to be top of the line and expensive. However, I thought if I made an appointment there with one of their sales women I could get the one on one treatment and try on some beautiful gowns get an idea of what I wanted and find it less expensive elsewhere.
Well, I got a huge dressing room with my own triple mirror and saleswoman. I told her what I had in mind. She came in with almost a dozen dresses. She said "I think I have your dress here" and she was right. It was a combination of the top I saw on one dress I showed her and the train of another dress I had showed her. It was perfect! I was afraid to look at the price tag and pleasantly surprised when I saw $1050. This was a full train gown with embroidering and lace overlay with amazing pearl detail!
They did not pressure me into any veils or additional sales but give their professional opinions and are very honest which is something I appreciate! I'd recommend them to any newly engaged bride to be! You'll feel like a princess!
