My husband had been a fan of the restaurant Monet's Table in Tolland, CT for years. We were thrilled to find out that they had re-opened for business after leasing out the restaurant for 4 years. We met with Deb and arranged to have our wedding at the restaurant, which can accommodate up to 70 people inside and more if you have tents outside. The wedding ceremony itself was in a small outdoor seating area with a gazebo, gardens and a small arbor. During the ceremony we had limited seating for older people and children and had the rest stand (which worked out fine).

During the planning process Deb was responsive to my inquires and flexible in working with me. We had access to the grounds the day of the ceremony to set up our flowers and decorations. I did not have a wedding planner, and did everything with friends, and Deb was cooperative and helpful with that.

We put a small deposit to hold the venue, and didn't have an elaborate contract to fill out. We ended having about 62 people, which I think was good, because if we had the max it may have felt crowded.

The day of the ceremony Deb's staff were all wonderful, and the food was delicious. We had a vegetarian buffet dinner, which was very affordable, which was important to us because of our limited wedding budget. We opted to give guests one drink and then offer a cash bar, and the staff was efficient at facilitating our plan for that.

We also had a champagne toast, which somehow got left off of Deb's agenda, but she was able to get it together last minute. It ended up costing a little more than what was quoted to us (maybe because they had to use champagne on hand) and delayed our schedule a bit, but it all worked out in the end.

Deb's catering manager, Michelle, was an amazing asset the day of the wedding. She went above and beyond the call of duty and was a step ahead of everything that needed to be done the whole afternoon. We were really impressed with her and the rest of the staff!

Carrie of Zest was a such pleasure to work with! From the moment we first met her, she was very friendly and professional. She listened to our ideas of incorporating Colombian appetizers and a plated meal using local and seasonal ingredients, and worked with us to create the perfect menu for our reception. After telling her that we were going for a vintage wedding theme, she even offered up her restaurant's mismatched vintage china to serve all of our guest's entrees! Carrie's staff was also very professional and made the reception run seamlessly. People are still raving about the appetizers (especially the plantains!) and the meat entrees (the grilled cornish game hen and roast pork were delicious). The only item that did not receive glowing reviews from our guests was the vegetarian option: risotto cakes. Sorry, Carrie! Everything else was wonderful!
