I am loving the new article published in the guide. Beaudry is a jeweler that has worked with so many celebrities, including Beyonce and Katherine Heigl (Izzy on Grey’s Anatomy). If you have a few minutes, definitely take a look at the tips that Beaudry has to get celeb style bling.

* Always a Bridesmaid… inspiration from Project Runway

Posted on October 14th, 2008 by Margaret. Filed under Bridesmaids.

Earlier I blogged about the four wedding dresses from the final four designers on Project Runway. Later this week (Wednesday to be exact!) the four designers will show their final collections at New York Fashion Week. Well, if you don’t already know, the collections are already up on the BravoTV website! There are some gorgeous dresses in the collections that could easily translate into unique, fashion forward bridesmaids dresses with style that will stand the test of time.

The top left is a blue bridesmaids dress designed by Kenley. Top right is a gorgeous teal dress by Korto, with green beads and a fan to offer from texture and interest. Also, did I mention that fans are a really cute alternative to a bridesmaids bouquet? The bottom two dresses are from Leanne’s collection, gorgeous and flowing while still maintaining her signature architectural style.

* Wedding dress inspiration from Project Runway

Posted on October 14th, 2008 by Margaret. Filed under Wedding Dress.

In the last episode of Project Runway, we saw four wedding dresses designed by Leanne, Jerell, Korto, and Kenley.

TOP LEFT: My favorite wedding dress was Leanne’s. Her wedding dress was so interesting and architectural, definitely a silhouette I have never seen before! I can’t wait to see her collection in fashion week.

TOP RIGHT: I also really liked Kenley’s design. It did look a lot like a dress in a collection from earlier this year, but I believe her when she says she has never seen the other designer’s dress. In any case, it’s a beautiful dress and perfect for a wedding that is full of vintage flair.

BOTTOM LEFT: Korto’s dress wasn’t as bad as people said. I thought it was kind of neat, though I agree it was over the top. The picture is actually another white dress from Korto’s collection that was really beautiful and would look very nice as a wedding dress.
BOTTOM RIGHT: I was saddened that Jerell did not make the cut, mainly because he seems like such a nice guy, but I agree that his design in this particular challenge was really lacking…

* Red Rose Floral Inspiration by Mandy Scott Flowers

Posted on October 8th, 2008 by Margaret. Filed under Flowers.

Now that it is officially fall, I thought we could celebrate with some red floral inspiration. I was particularly inspired by Mandy’s use of red roses, and how she mixes different colors to create texture and contrast. Mandy Scott was the superstar behind the flowers at my wedding. You can read more about my experience here.
