Rustic French Countryside
Posted on January 12th, 2009 by Margaret. Filed under Color Palettes.
It turns out that my lovely friend Kristen, who I am planning a bridal shower for, is more of a rustic french countryside kinda gal than a modern preppy pink. I love making inspiration boards so I went back for round two. This one was pretty easy because last week’s real wedding and this week’s real wedding both had a lot if natural elements that go well with a rustic theme.
When putting together this second Parisian-inspired inspiration board, I imagined lots of natural colors like greens and browns. My friend loves purple, so I added some purple elements and also some red for a splash of color. The french macaroons, bread, and wine elements are in this board too, because I want to maintain the cultural element for the Parisian foodie feast! I must admit, planning a bridal shower is really fun!
This board is heavily influenced by the gorgeous work of Lisa Vorce at Oh How Charming, whose work I greatly admire. In fact if I could go back and have my wedding over again, the first thing I would do is hire Lisa Vorce to design and coordinate my wedding. The entire top and bottom rows of photos are from weddings that Lisa designed.

Photos in the middle row: Left is by Martha Stewart, middle is by Wedding Paper Divas

So lovely! I especially adore the lavender sprig in the cocktail. So pretty!

Be careful - macaroons are highly addictive. I like the lavender sprigs too. I think they are a nice touch and so simple to do - and the scent is divine.
