An Eco-Chic Wedding in Vancouver

This Eco-chic Vancouver wedding was held at the University of British Columbia Farm. I just love how Jessica and Anthony infused so much of their personal style into this green and earth-friendly wedding.
Photographer James Moes shares a few details about Anthony and Jessica’s big day…
Beneath a small poplar grove neighbouring a blossoming field of buckwheat (for the UBC Farm’s bees to romance in), Jessica + Anthony were married on a gorgeous autumn evening. Beautiful families, fascinating childhood stories, and delicious local food.
Anthony is the Chief Scientific Officer of Engene, an emerging bio-technology company working towards an effective drug treatment of diabetes (among other chronic diseases). Jessica is a city planner with the City of Vancouver. Having lived on Cambie Street while the Canada Line subway system was being built underneath the road just outside my window (and the street was repaved & beautified), it was great to talk to her about this process and learn about the bureaurcratic conversations between city planners & engineers. Not to mention, she was able to answer my Dutch-influenced questions about dedicated bicycle lanes and medians in Vancouver.
Jessica had an amazing necklace. Anthony an amazing knit tie. And we were all treated to a delicious meal from Chef Taryn and her team from Savoury Chef Foods Catering Company – fine dining meeting the rigour of a 100 Mile Diet. The wedding was beautiful, the dance was indeed a party, and the cake was a crazy: two meters long & stacked by wine glasses!
