I wish I had thought of doing this.. a lovely gesture. I AM picking out my FH's wedding band as a surprise though, so on our wedding day he will be seeing the band for the first time. I am working with a jewelry designer in Los Angeles named Liza Shtromberg. She makes really unique pieces that are perfect for my non-traditional man. I found out about her work from her blog : http://lizashtromberg.wordpress.com/2009/08/27/unconventional-is-the-thing-with-mens-wedding-bands/ and then after checking out her website I went to meet with her. Now.. to make a final decision! I am so excited to surprise my FH and love of my life!! I loved reading this post .. it got me even more excited for the surprise. : ) I love this!
