I had no idea there are so many different forms to fill out. No wonder they say to get 2-3 certified copies of your marriage certificate!

Did you know - even if you just hyphenate your name, it is a legal name change.
I surely didn’t!
May 12th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
I’m going on 1 year and need to get on this asap.
May 12th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
It baffles my mind that it would take over 13 hours to change your name! But with this awesome service, all you have to do is fill out a few forms and push a button. It’s like the big red easy button.
I intend to get this as a wedding present for all my girlfriends who are getting married in the future!

I didn’t realize that you had to wait after you are married before you can turn in forms. Missnowmrs.com will allow you to fill out paperwork before you get married and print them when everything is complete for a fast and easier way to change your name.

I had no idea every state had different requirements for changing one’s name! How hard can it be to switch my last name for goodness sakes!
May 12th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
I didn’t realize there are different forms depending on which state you are in!

Wow- you need more than one certified copy of your marriage license? Good to know, as I’m three months away from the big day and had no idea! Who knew PW’s Blog & awesome giveaway would teach me a lesson or two! Thanks PW!

I can’t believe it only takes 30 min. That is nothing compared to the days my co-worker just spent changing hers.
May 12th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
I had NO idea that it would take OVER 13 hours to complete all of the necessary forms! Just thinking about it taking that long makes me seriously look into this service!!! I would LOVE to save that much time and maintain a high level of organization while changing my name in June!!!
May 12th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
So NICE to know I can do this BEFORE I actually tie the knot….it never hurts to start a little early..or at least have everything set up and ready to go!!
May 12th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
I too never realized it would take so long to complete all the forms. What a life saver this service would be.

You need to obtain multiple certified marriage certificates . . . not just one!!
May 12th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
I learned what MissNowMrs.com was! I knew there were services out there that did this sort of thing for you, but I didn’t know exactly how to find them.

I just got married and have no idea where to start changing my name. This would truly be a life saver. I had no idea I needed more than one copy of my marriage certificate…I only ordered ONE! : (

I didn’t know that there weren’t fees to change your name, except for your passport (and I think one other thing). At least I won’t have to fill out a book of checks along with a book of forms.
May 12th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I can’t wait to change my name!
May 12th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Wow, I did not realize how many people need to be notified of a name change. Makes sense but this will be a lot of work!
May 12th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
I never would have thought of getting multiple copies of certified licenses because I need to send one in with my name change form. I’m glad I read this post!
May 12th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
Wow, I didn’t know there were services that could organize the updating and mailing of identification cards with your new name directly to you! What an amazing time-saver!
May 12th, 2009 at 8:32 pm
I had no idea that you could change your name and permanent address at the same time.
May 13th, 2009 at 6:31 am

I have been dying to get rid of my semi-embarrassing very teasable last name for years!! It is definitely worth any amount of time but having this would make it much easier! I would have never thought to get more than one certified Marriage License! This could be the most useful information I have gotten from hours of internet/blog searching! Thanks PW!

Yay! Great give away. I have a friend that just got married and hear her horror stories. I hope to win!!

My fiancee really wants to change his first name, Fredrick, to the name everyone calls him, Ryan. I hope to suprise him with this if I win!

I’m a fan of them giving 5% of their profits to charity. We’re trying to give as much back as we can with our wedding and ultimately our marriage, so this is a great opportunity AND timesaver!
May 16th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
I can’t believe there’s so much to fill out!!
May 17th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
I hadn’t even thought about the fact that I will have to notify all my banks, cards, insurance, investments, EVERYONE that I’ve changed my name. This website is really informative and it would be great to win this gift certificate

I learned that I can save hours, over 13 hours possibly, if I use MissNowMrs.com. I did not realize it would even take more than 3 or 4 hours. Gulp! Help me save time! I am a mom of two!Who works full time!

Where would we be without the internet! Probably in line waiting to get all those forms and getting a hand cramp from filling them out in triplicate
May 20th, 2009 at 5:46 pm
Didn’t know its recommended to get multiple copies of your certified marriage certificate. I would have only requested one!
May 22nd, 2009 at 12:25 pm
I learned a lot, but the most important was how many things need to be changed. I’ve been debating whether or not to change my name officially, but this would definitely motivate me to do it.

Yay I won what a relief! Thank you thank you thank you
