My Most Unique Wedding Present: A Kite

One of my husband’s good friends gave us a kite as a wedding present. Though we have yet to use it, (sorry, Spence!) I think it’s such a cool and unique idea for a present. We live near the beach and I can’t wait to test out my non-existent kite-flying skills on a windy day. Because I never heard about someone giving a kite as a wedding present, I had to ask about it. His response? “I dunno. I give everyone kites for their wedding.” Fair enough.

i do love that idea. i give the same gift everytime for friends expecting a baby. it’s kind of like a signature thing. rather than falling victim to a gift registry, it’s something sweet they can remember that i got for them… since it is something they would use and want anyway, haha.

I heard one gave a sprouted coconut. According to the giver, if the couple would plant that coconut, they would realize what he meant by it.

No doubt, this is an excellent gift. Avoiding the cliche wedding selections, this person has earned a permanent spot in your memories. Great opportunity for some pleasant bonding time with your husband. Enjoy and All the best!

I know this sounds silly but we got these cool matching robes. My friend who bought them for us had “Mr.& Mrs.” embroidered on them and gave them to us to take on our honeymoon. I love these robes. Since then I have given that same gift to other newly weds. I found a great source on line at Elegant LinensPC com. They have all kinds of things that can be personalized and given for gifts; towels, sheets and even wedding handkerchiefs. This store is a great source for anyone looking for special wedding gifts.

I don’t know if I would give someone a kite for a wedding gift unless it was personalized. Like if it said “Mr. and Mrs.” Then that would be a cute idea. I’m trying to find something unique to give give to my friend for her wedding. The more I think about the kite, the better that idea sounds! I heard of another cute idea where you can give them personalized mugs. There’s so many gifts to consider still, but I have time.
As of right now they have so much they need to do! I am trying to help them out here and there by giving them a few suggestions for things. One of those is trying to find some Chicago Wedding Bands to play at the reception. I did some research for them and they can decide from the best that I can find in the area. Even though I am just a bridesmaid, I find the months leading up to her wedding exciting! I’m so happy for them…and I hope they enjoy the gift I will be getting them! =)
