I love all those ideas, actually. Every wedding should not be the same. And I've heard actually that having a variety of hors d'oerves (sp?) can be just as filling as a buffet or dinner-style reception. Plus, there's more mixing!

I agree with them all, except assigned seating.. the article suggests doing away with dinner entirely in favor of cocktails. I can't imagine that ever becoming mainstream... if you invite someone to a long event over the dinner hour, wedding or not, typically they'd expect a {sit down} meal of some kind. I know I would!

I think it's wonderful that they pointed out that each woman's body is created differently therefore different style dresses following the same theme or color! I think this helps to create wonderful dimension in photographs as well! We want our friends to feel comfortable and I think this was a wonderful suggestion to the identical bridesmaid tradition! :)
Rita & Elycia--- wonderful insight!!

I agree with most of them.
- One of my biggest pet peeves is the matching bridesmaids. Did a post about that not too long ago.
- I also hate the throwing rice. I've heard it has environmental consequences but I don't like it b/c I can't justify throwing food. There are better alternatives.
- Long vows: I don't think it's fair to put a limit on the vows, as long as they're not over doing it.
- I'm definitely against expensive favors; favors should be practical. I know what I do with favors I get, its sad to see money wasted like that (on a shelf not in garbage, lol), I prefer to get something I can use.
- We left for our honeymoon the morning after because I wanted to stay with my guests. Being that it was a wedding on a tight budget, I also stayed to help with the clean up.

The others I think are based on circumstances. If you have family members that don't get along assigned seating might be necessary.

Just my 2 cents.
