I love the grey and hot pink details that flowed through the bracelet, Louboutins, bridesmaids dresses, and lego cufflinks. Everything in this wedding just came together in a perfectly cohesive way!

Susie Chhour emailed this really cute wedding and I immediately fell in love with the whimsical way the couple incorporated their love for legos into their wedding…

Isn’t the last shot so cute? And I love the way the vibrant hot pink pops in photos. I am loving Caroline Tran’s gorgeous images…

The bride and groom held their reception at the Academy of Sciences, where the animals and penguins are exhibited! I love the playful way the reception decor pops in the images with vibrant reds, oranges, yellows, and greens.

My sister’s friends got married this weekend and were extremely fortunate that one of their friends, Dave Lu, is actually an amateur photographer who took some amazing non-pro pics! I love how the bride played with color and texture in her wedding - from the peach sash, to the gorgeous patterned bridesmaids dresses, to the whimsical centerpieces and invitations. This wedding just screams PARTY! It just goes to show how fantastic a “frendor” can be for brides who are planning with a limited budget. If these are just the non-pro pics, I’m sure the pro pics will turn out fabulous!

I love the whimsical nature of some wedding photos. One Love Photo captures the beautiful simplicity of twinkle lights — and the randomness of a fish out of water — the clown that interrupts the wedding! Somehow it all works. These pics made me smile so I thought I would share!

* A Home Run

Posted on June 10th, 2009 by Margaret. Filed under Destination Weddings, Real Weddings.

More lovely details from this beautiful Hawaiian wedding…

Kristy of Volatile Photography shares a few more wedding details with us…

Jonny Gomes, the groom, is a world series baseball player. As a surprise, my assistant and I designed a wooden sign for the couple that read “Home Run.” The sign was used in many photographs and the bride and groom took it home to hang in their home, and save forever.

In lieu of favors for guests, donations were made to the Human Society of the United Statein each guest’s honor.

* Blue Wedding Details by Volatile Photography

Posted on June 9th, 2009 by Margaret. Filed under Destination Weddings, Real Weddings.

I love the blue wedding details from this gorgeous Hawaii wedding off the Kohala Coast. I love the incorporation of starfish and light blue converse shoes to go with the beach wedding theme. The embroidered wedding date and “Groom” shoes are just too cute!

Here to share some details with us is Kristy Ahumada of Volatile Photography, who captured these precious details on camera:

Kristi and Jonny had an oceanfront ceremony at the Fairmont Orchid, on the Big Island, Hawaii. Around fifty-five guests heard the Blowing of the Pu (conch shell) just before Kristi and Jonny married. The bride and groom exchanged their own vows, and had a blessing of the rings in the Koa Bowl, which is a Hawaiian tradition.

The color scheme of their big day was aqua, fuchsia and white. The bride wore aqua-colored heels, while the groom and groomsmen wore custom made Chuck Taylor’s by Converse. The Chuck Taylor’s of the groomsmen were aqua in color, and had the wedding date stitched on the back. The groom’s Converse shoes were white, and had “groom” stitched on the back. Kristi’s bridesmaids all sported different styles of aqua-colored dresses, and the groomsmen were in button-up cream and white striped shirts, and linen pants.

* Sunshine Yellow Theme

Posted on June 8th, 2009 by Alyson. Filed under Color Palettes, Wedding Inspiration.

Since I spent much of last week using pinks in my inspiration boards, I’ve decided to avoid pink all-together this week. The focus of today is all about shades of one delightful color: sunshine yellow!

I just wanted this yellow inspiration board to radiate warmth and fun. This could be perfect for a light-hearted spring or summer wedding. The flower possibilities are great for yellow themes. I used daffodils, narcissus and calla lilies, but you could also go for gladiolus, tulips, roses, daisies, and buttery yellow stock.

I love bow accents with this cute theme. The dress is by Thread. The brighter yellow heels with the bows are called Rossi by Steve Madden. The darker yellow peek-a-boo pumps are Pura Lopez from Nordstrom.

The bow shaped napkin fold and the lovely wedding cakes are from Martha Stewart Weddings.

For the menu, lemons are an obvious choice — lemonade, lemon sorbet, maybe even lemon meringue tarts? Yum!
