I wanted to share my recent finding with you all - The Destination Wedding Planner guide to planning a wedding “from afar.” Not only does the guide have some gorgeous inspiration boards, budget worksheets and photos, but absolutely great advice about how to plan the perfect destination wedding.
Some of my favorite tips:
No matter who’s doing the planning, sign up for a separate email account that’s just for handling wedding details. That way you keep everything in one place!
As you visit venues, always bring your digital camera along so you can remember everything later. You might think it will stay fresh in your mind, but the more places you visit, the more they will blend together.
Gift and welcome bags: A basket full of goodies makes a nice presentation, but nobody wants to carry a basket back home. Package your gifts in a pretty paper gift bag — which is also economical!

I’m usually not a trash the dress kinda gal, but these photos just scream awesomeness.

And now, on to the intimate reception, held on the shores of Mexico. I love the simple color palette of white and navy blue against the blue sky and ocean and white sand beaches…

Now onto the beachside ceremony. I love how the veil incorporates a scalloped lace edge to pay homage to the Mexican location. And the pure blue ocean and picturesque beaches just make me want to hop on a plane and take a vacation with tropical drink in hand!
Check back later, because there’s more of this wedding to come later today!

* Engagement Pictures by Palos Studio

I was so pleasantly surprised to open my email inbox and find this dazzling 3-day destination wedding from Louis Palos, one of PW’s Best of 2008 recipients given to only the top 5% of wedding professionals in the world. The lucky couple, Jessica and Lucas, took their engagement pictures on the sunny shores of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, just one day before the wedding…
Don’t these images absolutely evoke the romance and anticipation for the big day? Here are some warm words straight from the artist behind these lovely photographs:
Jessica and Lucas are such a genuinely nice couple. From the first time we met them and even during the week we spent with them, they treated us like guests and more importantly like friends. Thank you both again for trusting us and appreciating our work.
Jessica and Lucas decided to have a little session the day before the wedding and of course we were just as excited to shoot it! This was great for the couple to get used to being in front of the camera and for us to scout a few spots nearby for pictures. We had such a great time with these two, and can’t wait to share part 2 (the wedding) and part 3 (the day after session) with you!
Please stay tuned tomorrow for the absolutely stunning wedding …
