Karen Hendrix Couture just sent over a sneak peek of their exquisite Spring 2010 line — including color, a Tiffany dress and this perfect little white dress! Love, love, love! About color, Hendrix says, “Why not wear a color that compliments her complexion? As someone I admire once said, The best color in the world, is the one that looks good on you.” I love her way of thinking!

Over the weekend one of my friends gave another this alphabet pendant from Tiffany for her 40th birthday. As she excitedly unwrapped the little blue box and happily took out this necklace (and put it on immediately!), I thought – one can never go wrong with a classic! What bridesmaid wouldn’t love this timeless gift? At $100, it’s a no brainer for an overwhelmed bride-in-planning!

I am still pouring over thousands of images from the wedding shows we attended in New York. One of my favorite designers was Jenny Yoo. I admire her clean designs and subtle glamour. I am really loving this short dress with pockets…maybe for my big day? Hmmm…! Here are a few that had the crowd buzzing!

Everywhere I went during bridal market in NY I kept hearing, “The trend is purple!” Purple bridesmaid dresses, purple flowers, purple sashes and purple cupcakes! I am in love with this orchid bouquet by The French Bouquet, as well as this array of purple arrangements, which could be DIY’d!

These lively mini lanterns will serve two purposes at your evening wedding — as escort cards and special favors. This is actually a DIY project I could handle as well - which I always get excited about! Read more about them now in the guide!

* Bridal Shower Themes - Antique French Library
Posted on November 2nd, 2009 by Margaret. Filed under bridal shower.
My sister Kathy of Elysia Desserts recently threw a gorgeous bridal shower for her dear friend Cynthia. The bridal shower theme was Antique French Library …
For bridal shower favors, Kathy presented the bride’s favorite candy - Swedish Fish. The candy was delicately placed in a mason jar with khaki fabric tied on the top with a piece of twine to give it a country feel. The label read “So Many Fish In the Sea… I finally found the one for me!” as an ode to the Swedish fish encased in the bridal shower favors.
Kathy took an antique and very budget-friendly approach to the bridal shower decor. She used glass milk bottles to serve water. Bell jars and spaghetti sauce jars were an inexpensive and charming way to hold the flowers pale lavender and white flowers she bought at a local farmers market. Small jam jars were reused to hold loose tea leaves, serving as both fashion and function. To incorporate the library theme, she found vintage books and stacked them artistically in the food display. She then took some of the pages of the books and created a paper wall-hanging made of pinwheels and other garlands so that the antique vibe resonated from floor to ceiling.
And to finish off the look, Kathy presented the tea in our mother’s antique porcelain tea set. Tea was served with an array of dainty sandwiches, and of course Kathy’s signature cupcakes - a green tea cupcake with cream frosting, and an earl gray tea cupcake with orange blossom butter cream frosting.
