* A Pink Wedding in Las Vegas

Posted on April 6th, 2010 by Margaret. Filed under Real Weddings.

The talented photographers over at Bliss Wedding Studios shot this really beautiful Las Vegas wedding. I love the romantic pink details…

Here are some details of this gorgeous Las Vegas wedding, straight from the photographers who took these awesome images..

In January 2008, Grais and Jerry met in a bar in Los Angeles, where she was living and he was visiting (on winter break from medical school). It was love at first sight and though Grais didn’t think there was any potential due to the 3000 miles between them, they took a gamble and began a long-distance relationship between California and Florida. Their gamble on love paid off - seven months later, still crazy as ever about each other, Jerry surprised Grais with a romantic getaway to Venice, Italy for 4th of July, and proposed under the Bridge of Sighs. Love and fireworks, what could be better!

Since they were still living apart while Jerry was finishing school, they decided to split the difference and marry in one of their favorite destinations: Vegas! The town perfectly captured the fun, vibrant and spontaneous essence of their whirlwind relationship, and allowed all their family and friends to come together on one big, amazing party vacation. They chose an eye-popping color scheme of fuchsia and white, which was reflected throughout the ceremony and reception in the florals, the favors, and even the ribbon streaming from their adorable baby daughter’s pull wagon!

Grais bought a plain off-the-rack cream-colored gown, which she then took to a seamstress to customize. The vintage beaded butterfly applique on the bust, the strappy back, and the sensuous bustle were all added on after. It was one of the most brilliant before-and-after alterations we’ve seen on a wedding dress!

The intimate ceremony, held on the Fountain Terrace of the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel, was simple and elegant. Grais and Jerry exchanged vows under a canopy of white silk and fuchsia roses and hydrangeas. A reception immediately followed in one of the Four Seasons’ banquet rooms. Fun DIY touches were found everywhere, from the pink satin sacks filled with chocolate casino chips, to the imaginative place cards that mimicked playing cards, only with each guest’s picture printed on them. And in true Vegas style, the King himself made an impromptu appearance with a sultry ballad in honor of the newlyweds, and then kick-started the dance party with a medley of famous Elvis tunes. The party (or should we say, afterparty) continued in the couple’s Presidential Suite, where family and friends celebrated through the night overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.
