Grow a little wheat grass for your wedding and really add a natural, colorful element to your day. We love this seating card display, but also think wheat grass centerpieces are beautiful and refreshing. Thanks Jordan! See the full instructions.

* My Favorite Wedding Dresses

It has been over a month since I returned from New York, where all of the wonderful designers revealed their latest and greatest collections. I have had time to pour over tons of photos and hundreds of gowns - and here are my absolute 5 favorites!

1. Carolina Herrera – inspired by the great Frida Kahlo.

2. Melissa Sweet for Priscilla – groovy! This appealed to my hippy chic side.

3. Junko Yoshioka – love the originality here!

4. Monique Lhuillier – delightful.

5. Romona Keveza – always knows how to add that extra glam to her gowns.

* Simple and Sweet Homemade Wedding Cake

Posted on May 11th, 2010 by Margaret. Filed under Do It Yourself, Wedding Cakes.

My sister Kathy recently made the wedding cake for her good friend this past Saturday. The wedding was incredibly intimate – 10 people and each guest had a special role in the couple’s big day. That’s what I really love about weddings… the meaning of the love between a couple and sharing it with those are close to them.

* Brilliant DIY Brides!

Posted on May 6th, 2010 by Jeannie. Filed under Do It Yourself.

I have been looking over the entries for PW’s DIY Wedding challenge, and I just cannot get over the amazing creativity out there! I’ve got to share a few of my absolute favorite ideas.

1. Scrabble Magnet Favors. Normally I am in the edible camp for favors, but these I would actually take home and use with sheer delight!

2. Hand Sculpted Cake Topper. I love the fact that this bride couldn’t afford the topper she wanted on Etsy, so she actually made this adorable bird couple and tree topper herself. Absolutely precious!

3. Spring Bird Table Numbers.  I have so much appreciation for the time and thought put into this project, and can you imagine how amazing the tables must have looked?! Love!

Stay tuned for more on the DIY challenge, as voting on the finalists starts Monday!
