* Brilliant DIY Brides!

Posted on May 6th, 2010 by Jeannie. Filed under Do It Yourself.

I have been looking over the entries for PW’s DIY Wedding challenge, and I just cannot get over the amazing creativity out there! I’ve got to share a few of my absolute favorite ideas.

1. Scrabble Magnet Favors. Normally I am in the edible camp for favors, but these I would actually take home and use with sheer delight!

2. Hand Sculpted Cake Topper. I love the fact that this bride couldn’t afford the topper she wanted on Etsy, so she actually made this adorable bird couple and tree topper herself. Absolutely precious!

3. Spring Bird Table Numbers.  I have so much appreciation for the time and thought put into this project, and can you imagine how amazing the tables must have looked?! Love!

Stay tuned for more on the DIY challenge, as voting on the finalists starts Monday!

* Natural Dessert Table Inspiration + DIY

How romantic does this earth-toned, terrarium-inspired dessert table look?  I love the moss details, rustic finishes, and - of course - unique and delectable-looking sweets!  The team of Oh Darling Photography, Macaron de Paris and Merci New York put together the project, complete with a DIY of the macaron tower, which you can find here!

* Simply Stated

I am continually impressed with Simple Silhouettes‘ fresh approach to bridesmaid and bridal wear.  Their newest collections feature frocks with clean lines, great construction, and classic embellishments with a hint of fun.   Here’s a peek into the 2010 lookbook which spans the style scale from vintage-inspired to chic and tailored, all the while remaining lovely and simple.  Oh sweet rose ikat print dress… how I love thee….

Laura, one of our PW brides, sent over images of her romantic wedding in Bethlehem, PA…

Laura, the stunning bride, writes:

I can truly say it was love at first sight; we knew the moment we met that we were each “the one.” We were engaged 4 months later and then began to plan the big day. I knew I wanted a more traditional wedding, but I also wanted it to be glamorous and memorable. I wanted a big romantic dream and that’s what I got. :)
