* A Colorful Send Off…
Posted on December 28th, 2010 by Jeannie. Filed under Uncategorized.
Picture this: instead of the traditional rice tossing, you’ve got mini-yarn balls flying through the air as you and your beloved exit your reception! I love the thought of this … and the photos would be so cute! Another plus, they can be made in any color you desire. See full instructions here.

* A Holiday Wedding from Jonathan Hoffner…
Posted on December 24th, 2010 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
I’ve been on the search for some gorgeous holiday weddings… and this one is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. Sara and Dan wed in an old-fashioned bed and breakfast outside of Spicer, MN… the day was full of vintage accents and rustic decor. Their winter wedding was personal, warm, and terribly romantic. Thanks to Jonathan Hoffner for sharing the photos with us. Enjoy the pics and have a very happy holiday!

* My Bridal Obsessions of 2010
Posted on December 24th, 2010 by Jeannie. Filed under Things we heart.
It is fun to revisit the year, the trends and all things creative in the wonderful world of weddings! Here are my top bridal obsessions from this banner year:
1. Banners, obviously! Burlap, chalk, cupcake wrappers - you name it, I love them.
2. A Sweet Bar: this can be a cookie bar, a smore bar, an ice cream bar … pies, you get the idea!
3. Chalkboards. There is something really quaint and charming about these when associated with a wedding. I created a chalkboard escort board for my wedding - it was a fun project.
4. Cake bunting: A cake is far more precious with tiny flags adorning it. Enough said.

5. Cake pops. They’re not just for children’s birthday parties anymore. What a refreshing, sweet spin on the traditional wedding cake.
6. Fruit. Lemon centerpieces, pear place cards, cherry-filled favor bags. Fruit was everywhere this year, and I can’t get enough!

* Pretty with Pine Cones
Posted on December 22nd, 2010 by Jeannie. Filed under Do It Yourself, Favors.
If you are having a winter wedding or even decorating for the holidays, pine cones are a beautiful way to add accent to your arrangements, tables or favors. They also smell delightful and resurrect warm feelings of the season. I have a big bowl of them on the coffee table. Thank you Mary Swenson for putting together this ode to pine cone accents!
