SMS Photography sent over this pretty Southern wedding earlier this week.  When I saw the sweet couple (Ben + Blair) and the unique artichoke and succulent florals, I had to share it!  Check out the lanterns in the  ceremony set-up and the brightly lit trees for some inspired lighting ideas, too…

* Three Cheers for Cake Ink

Posted on March 2nd, 2011 by Jeannie. Filed under Color Palettes, Things we heart, Wedding Cakes.

I don’t know where I’ve been … but I just discovered the fabulous Down Under venture Cake Ink - who provide not only stationery for your event but the perfectly matching cake as well. What a brilliant concept! Besides that, their cakes and displays are absolutely drool-worthy. Here are some of their recent winners!!! (as Charlie Sheen would say) for me:

I just love the mexican bird bunting and color scheme!

This is called a “Moroccan style” Australian Christmas … whatever it is, the color palette, patterns and cake are all precious.

Thank you Cake Ink for the inspiration!

* Etsy Wedding Style

Posted on March 2nd, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.

The cute bride, Sarah, from {this sweet lil blog} dropped me a note telling me all about her etsy bridal wardrobe.  She purchased her full ensemble from the brilliant artists and creative sellers on the site.  While piecing together her wardrobe took a lot of hours of scouring the web,  this is how she completed her look for their romantic wedding in Venice:

Inspired by an image of {this dress}, Sarah set out to piece together a vintage-inspired wedding wardrobe.

She found this vintage Gunne Sax wedding dress from etsy seller salvagelife.  It cost her $207.95 plus $200 in alterations for the perfect fit.

Then she came across this sweet lily headband from ThreadRare, just $45.00.

Ok, the ring isn’t from Etsy, but sooo gorgeous, isn’t it?

She topped the ensemble with a long-sleeved bolero from Bonzie ($208.00)

…and added buttons from buttonsgalore to her shoes, jacket, bouquet.

Last but not least.. Sarah carried this simple clutch purse from DavidandChiyoThe wedding was beautiful and simple.. the couple wed at Campo de L’ Abazia and followed the ceremony with photographs and a champagne reception. While Sarah did spend hours upon hours planning her wardrobe, they let many of the other wedding day details unfold naturally and spontaneously, like the bouquet.  Sarah bought fresh cut roses the morning of the wedding and designed a handmade bouquet.

* Homespun Wedding

In the mood for something unique and off the beaten path?  Leave it up to a creative etsy vendor to put together the perfect rustic, DIY wedding on the edge of a pine thicket in Alabama.  Caitlin + Josh wanted their day to be a reflection of their style and they did just that using items from their home, vintage ceramics, and lots of hard work!  They pulled off quite the party.  The lovely photographs were snapped by Twin Hearts Photography.

Check out Caitlin’s vintage homegoods over at Seventh Hand…. and {click here} to see the full feature on Project Wedding.
