* Lavender Love
Posted on July 29th, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Things we heart.
One of my very very favorite things is lavender. (I can’t believe I haven’t shared this yet)! It all started when I ate the most blissful lemon lavender scone at a café one day. Ever since then, I can’t get enough. I love the way it smells, tastes… the look of the beautiful tiny flowers… the color… everything. There are so many fun ways to incorporate the rustic look and aromatic essence of this herb into a wedding. Here’s a round up of some ideas!
1. Hand-tied bunches 2. Organic lavender + herb boutonniere by Emily K Botanic Studio 3. Bouquets via {here} and {here}.
4. French countryside-inspired tabletop décor 5. Lavender honey lemonade via {here} 6. Lavender jar favors by ACME Party Box Company 7. mmm and a sneak peak from next week’s real wedding of the week by Anjuli Paschall! (hanging lavender bunches)
Have a happy weekend!
P.S. If the thought of eating a lemon lavender scone sounded like the most perfect, blissful weekend plan… you can can make them! I tried {this recipe} (without the clotted cream) and they were de-lish!

* Something So Blue.
Posted on July 28th, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Things we heart.
Will you be wearing something blue?

How about a fancy bow tie lingerie set from BHLDN?
…..An oversized silk chiffon flower by Twigs & Honey?
….A cute ‘vintage blue’ garter by A Alicia out of London?
So many things in beautiful blue.
Maybe these turquoise Polka Dot d’Orsays by {BHLDN}…
…perhaps a hair comb with blue swarovski crystals {iloniti}…
…or a stunning multi-stranded necklace by Kristin Morris?
What special, beautiful blue thing have you chosen for your day?

In the midst of summer, I’m going thru a little season envy right now… (Ya know, I start to think about my winter wardrobe and how nice it would be to pull out sweater.. in the middle of winter I miss all my summer dresses). I decided to cure that by featuring this rustic, intimate winter cabin wedding! Alison and Andrew held their DIY-style day in the small patch of rural bliss called Smithers, British Columbia. Enjoy the sweet and simple styling! Photos by Simply Rose.

* Santa Ynez Real Wedding
Posted on July 25th, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
This week we’ve featured Christie and David’s love story as our real wedding of the week! The couple met on eHarmony.com. After their first meal together at a Burbank café, the two knew there was something special. Two and a half years later, David proposed to Christie during a hot air balloon ride overlooking California wine country. They planned their vineyard wedding in five months, and the result was an utterly romantic and intimate day.

* A Pink Wedding in a Barn
Posted on July 21st, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
When I saw this pink wedding dress.. I was beside myself…! I love that Sylvia, the bride, indulged herself with a very pink wedding.. dress and all. Jason, the groom, was clad in a handsome grey suit.. and together they put together a most picturesque DIY wedding in a barn. (Sylvia even designed the bouquet)! The fresh, beautiful photos were taken by Kurt Boomer Photo. ♥
