1920′s Shanghai Nightclub

I’m totally in love with Jen + James’ wedding… I think you will be too… Don’t they look utterly fabulous?  They had an equally fabulous wedding of old-fashioned Shanghai opulence at The Bell House in New York. With flowers by Saipua and exquisite film photographs by Robert Sukrachand… sigh, well, you know… we’re entirely honored and elated to share this masterpiece!

From the Bride: We first met in March 2004 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music – a performing arts center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn – and began dating the following February.  I worked on the 4th floor in the Publicity Office and James worked on the 5th floor in the Development Office. Between Pina Bausch dances and Shakespearean comedies, James would give me googly eyes. I played coy. But Master Wu had one solid, unstoppable move: he left gifts of bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches on my chair in the mornings.  The rest is history.

Our wedding day was a true party! We had a brass band (Grandpa Musselman and His Syncopators) playing period music and the guests cheered as we walked down the aisle. We placed an old suitcase filled with fans, masks, and other props for the photobooth…some of them made it onto the dancefloor. And we projected Top Hat on the screen, my favorite Fred Astaire film.

Thanks for your write-up on this site. From my own personal experience, there are occassions when softening upwards a photograph could possibly provide the Wedding photographer with a little an artsy flare. Often however, that soft clouds isn’t precisely what you had in mind and can quite often spoil an otherwise good photograph, especially if you consider enlarging this.
