Trend Snippet: Sleeves Please
Posted by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress

This past New York bridal market was really such a treat.  While strapless gowns have stolen the show year after year, this season was different.  We saw sleeves in all shapes and size… beautiful, feminine, sheer sleeves… short and long, beaded and simple, one shoulder sleeves, and off the shoulder sleeves! Whew!  It was a sleeve extravaganza that we enjoyed very much.  Here’s a peek at the sleeve trend with looks from our fave designers:

1. Elbow Length Sleeves

1. Marchesa 2. Rivini 3. Monique Lhuillier

2. Asymmetrical Sleeves

1. Douglas Hannant 2. Jenny Packham 3. Angel Sanchez

3. Flowing Sleeves

1. Angel Sanchez 2. Carolina Herrera 3. Nicole Miller

4. Puff Sleeves

Jenny Packham

5. Lace Sleeves

1. Monique Lhuillier 2. Carolina Herrera 3. Claire Pettibone

6. Tulle Sleeves

1. Monique Lhuillier 2. Reem Acra

7. Off the Shoulder Sleeves

1. Badgley Mischka 2. Marchesa 3. Romona Keveza

8. Beaded Sleeves

1. Reem Acra 2. Jenny Packham

We’re hoping sleeves are here to stay…

Happy Weekend!

Of all the wedding gown designs above, I love the one by Carolina Herrera, simple, sweet but seductive, the one by Jenny Packham is also great, the bride looks like a goddess ! Thanks for this, now I have an idea on what my wedding gown should look like ! :-)

So may of those dresses are absolutely gorgeous – have to say I think my favorite is the Rivini. The lace and elbow-gloves-feel of the style is exquisite.
All of the intricate lace and beading of this collection is beautiful!

I love seeing the dress trends change. I quite like sleeves and it such a nice change after so many years of same old same old.

Wow, what a pretty wedding! Love the colors and innocent style.

It’s about time! Less than 1% of the population looks good in the same old strapless ‘uniform’ that has been around the past several years. Time for femininity and beauty again after years of seeing naked (and usually fat!) shoulders and arms!

I love the look of sleeves on a wedding gown. I know some are afraid to wear it since it’s not traditional but I like the look.
