Vibrant Hindu Ceremony in Atlanta by Nadia D Photography
Posted on March 13th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
These photos are sure to sweep you away to the ancient, exotic culture of India. It’s hard to believe, but Indira and Shankar’s vibrant, color-filled, and traditional Hindu wedding was actually held in Atlanta! Nadia D was there to capture the sacred ceremonies and exquisite beauty of their union.
Sophisticated, Indian arts had a special place in the day, from Indira’s mendhi to the painted outdoor floor. The bride wore several changes of traditional attire throughout the wedding celebration, each one utterly unique and gorgeous.

Indira is from Atlanta, Shankar from New Jersey. They met in college, and remained close friends for ten years! They finally got together in 2010, and were engaged a year later.
A daytime ceremony turned into a sophisticated evening reception at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel. The reception was imbued with fall colors, candlelight, and a rich blend of greenery and florals.

What an utter treat to indulge in these incredible photos! All our best to the newlyweds!
A special thanks to Nadia D and I Do PR for sharing this with us.

What I sincerely really love about the traditions of Indian weddings is the beauty of the gorgeous colors, and how the color seems to always accent the bride so beautifully. It’s such a contrast from the traditional American wedding. Although both are nice, I think I prefer the “living color”. It’s certainly just as lovely. And, in it’s own special way, just like white (but of course, different) it’s also tres chic.
This bride looks stunning! What a beautiful girl.
