Lovely Vineyard Wedding by elisa b Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Get ready for a dose of loveliness!  This East Coast pair married on a scenic vineyard in Virginia.  Maria and Will’s wedding featured a lovely purple palette and a sweet surprise end to the evening.  Here is their story in photos by elisa b Photography.Maria is a Vermont girl and dreamed of a wedding in an organic, natural setting with lots of pretty scenery.  They came across their perfect locale at Veritas Vineyards in Afton, Virginia.  Maria’s favorite color has been purple since she was little, so the couple drew inspiration from the vineyard to design an elegant, purple-infused wedding day!  Pat’s Floral Design was the creative mind behind all of the charming, feminine florals.Maria and Will met in Boston, where Maria’s cousin brought them together in a secret ‘set-up’ during a friendly gathering. Over the course of a gorgeous New England fall and a cold and snowy winter, they fell in love.  Will had long been planning a move to Virginia that spring for medical school, while coincidentally, Maria was accepted into a PhD program at the University of Virginia.  The stars were aligned!  Rain nearly threatened the outdoor ceremony, but after only a few drops of rain, it held up just fine.

After they were wed, everyone headed indoors to celebrate in a light-filled ballroom.  As a focal point, the florist put a gorgeous tree behind the head table and hung lanterns from the branches.  Candlelight and beautiful florals filled the room.  At the end of the evening, there was a fun surprise for guests:  the donut wagon from Carpe Donut!

Vera Wang Spring 2013: Shades of Love
Posted by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress

I couldn’t help but post a selection of the ever-deepening reveal of Vera Wang’s Spring 2013 collection.  It was like magic on the runway, these shades of  rich, radiant red.  And of course, it was a pure delight to dwell in Vera’s newest cultivation of her signature textured ballgowns and dramatic, fitted silhouettes…  Naturally, these bold colors aren’t a fit for every wedding, so you can revel in the fact that these incredible gowns are available in more traditional colors.  Better yet… white for the ceremony, red for the reception?! If you’re wildly excited by the possibility, do tell us…  what is your shade of love?

1. Cardinal

2. Scarlett

3. Crimson

4. Dahlia

Hoping your weekend is romantic and love-filled…

Chic Hawaii Wedding by Joanna Tano Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

When I saw these photos, I completely fell in love with this beaming, happy couple.  The bride, Gabriella, grew up in Maui and always dreamed of having her wedding there. She met Zach when they were freshman in college at Northeastern University in Boston.   It was love at first sight for Zach, but it took a few years for Gabriella to fall head over heels.  Here’s a peek at their barefoot beach wedding and chic, candlelit reception.  {Photos by  Joanna Tano Photography}.The couple wanted the ceremony and reception to be an organic reflection of the Hawaiian landscape and their modern style.  Gabriella wore a sophisticated, beach-casual dress by Judd Waddell; the groom was adorned by a gorgeous leigh of greenery.  The breezy sunset ceremony on the beach was followed by a full moon gathering at a private residence.  I’m in awe of the incredible candlelight and chic black and white tablescapes…

Isn’t the black and white palette just so stunning?!

Sweet wishes to this lovely pair!

DIY Wednesday: Dip Dye Favor Boxes
Posted by Kate. Filed under DIY Wednesday, Do It Yourself

By: Chelsea Fuss

These simple and pretty favors are easy to create, with a few craft store boxes and some acrylic paint! We made them for a modern, minimalist style wedding, but use your imagination and add colors and candy to match your own style and color theme. Each box costs approximately $0.50.

You will need:

Kraft paper boxes

acrylic paint

box filler

candy in the same color as the paint

wax twine

1. Paint either the lid or the bottom of the box. You can switch off to make it fun!

2. Let dry for about 20 minutes. Ours needed two coats.

3. Once the two coats are dry, fill the boxes with paper filler and candy.

4. Tie with waxed twine!

5. Display at each place setting for your guest to take home.
