Color & Culture in Portola Valley by Volatile Photography

I’m awe-struck, awe-inspired and in love with today’s real wedding and so excited to share! Emily and Adam’s Indian-Jewish fusion wedding was a celebration of culture and tons of color… which just makes me so happy. A bold palette and unique, very personalized details made the day a total work of art. In fact, they did much of the hard work themselves… Emily and her friends even sourced most of the florals from the San Francisco Flower Mart! Kristy from Volatile Photography captured every last ounce of vibrant color… These photos are sure to brighten your day and inspire your palette!
Emily’s vibrant sari was her mother’s, from her wedding day 37 years ago. She also wore her grandmother’s jewels in combination with a few pieces she picked up at Sagar in Sunnyvale.
The couple took their vows under a traditional Jewish chuppah- with bright floral garlands hanging from the fabric. Emily and Adam’s fresh approach to blending tradition was deeply personal and very alive.
The bride and groom met at a party that Emily’s roommates threw. Adam was standing near the door, just about to leave, when Emily spotted him from across the room. She instantly new that she couldn’t let him get away and made a bee-line for the door to strike up a conversation (just like in a movie)! Ever since that night, they’ve barely spent a day apart.
The vibrant, airy wedding was held at the Portola Valley Town Hall, a gorgeous architectural venue. Vivid blooms, patterns, texture, and eventually a room of colorfully dressed guests filled the hall with bright energy.
There is more to see from the day; head here to revel in the full story!
