A Green & Yellow Garden Party by Jonathan Young Weddings

In the middle of this hot summer, we’re indulging in the fresh Brooklyn wedding of Marybeth and Brendan. The photos of their sweet outdoor ceremony, lemon palette, and breathtaking reception- all by Jonathan Young Weddings- are just brightening our day! Marybeth is a buyer for Ralph Lauren and Brendan works for Bloomberg, so naturally they opted for a timeless NY venue- the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and The Palm House. The theme unfolded from there… they wanted guests to feel delighted and happy, like they were entering a secret garden. The whimsical yellow and green palette brought a fresh twist to this classic day.
Marybeth and Brendan first connected on Match.com, and after some online chatting, they met in person on the steps of the Museum of Natural History. A year later, Brendan proposed at the same spot! Marybeth wore an ethereal Pronovias gown for the ceremony on the wide open and pristinely manicured grounds of the botanic garden. The bride and groom were both raised Catholic and wanted to capture elements of their religion in the ceremony; they were lucky enough to have a minister in the family to marry them- making the day even more intimate and special!
The Palm House absolutely glowed with the golden yellow motif! Brendan hand-crafted the escort cards and table placards out of wood; charming yellow and white florals with hints of olive green accented the space. For favors, guests enjoyed their fill of a vintage candy bar, and Marybeth and Brendan made a donation to FreedomtoMarry.org, in support of a wish that everyone might get to celebrate love the way that they did.
We’re still in awe of that amazing space… what a party! Big thanks to Marybeth and Brendan and to Jonathan Young for sharing this special day with us!
