Posted on September 28th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.
As the wedding season slowly winds down, bridal fashion season is just about to move into high gear. The new 2013 collections are soon to be revealed. In fact, dozens of designers are setting up as I write this, to share the latest and greatest in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. Enzoani has some absolute beauties lined up for 2013, starting with these three edgy styles from the Black Label Collection.
no. 1, 2. & 3: Black Label
Enzoani and Blue are equally exquisite with diverse collections for the more traditional, yet very stylish bride.

* Kindred Hearts, Instagram, Wine + Love: A Real Wedding
Posted on September 27th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
From the moment they got engaged, Jen and Loreal knew that their wedding was bound to be far from traditional. They poured loving effort into designing a truly unique, family-oriented day full of their favorite things! The women share passions for wine and literature, so they incorporated eclectic typography pieces into their unfolding vision at SCRIBE, a favorite winery in Sonoma. The couple created a personal Instagram stream so that their guests could share pictures… along with the professional work of Andrew Pielage Photography, the couple has photos that capture every personal detail!
Instead of a traditional bridal party, Jen and Loreal enlisted members of their immediate families to stand at the altar with them. Loreal says, ‘without their love and support, our union might have never happened.’ Loreal’s sister, Katie, officiated the ceremony- pronouncing them wife and wife by the power vested in her by the ‘World Wide Web!’
Before dinner began, the group toasted with tuaca, a tasty Italian liqueur, to celebrate the memory of Jen’s late mother. Forty guests dined together in an intimate, community-style meal catered by Casey’s Pizza Truck. It’s easy to see that the reception was a gathering of kindred hearts. Toss in the instagram-fest, good wine, music by Cosmo Alleycats, and dancing- this reception was made-for-them.

DIY projects were a huge part of the celebration. The couple sourced vintage table settings from various thrift stores and flowers from the Oakland Flower Mart to design overflowing centerpieces that graced the length of the table. The escort cards were printed in old-fashioned type and attached to a fresh baguette with baker’s twine. In lieu of favors, a heartfelt donation to The Human Rights Campaign topped off this loving, family day of matrimony and fun. Jen and Loreal were lucky enough to have their guests stick around for the weekend- the next day was slated for a bike wine tour through Sonoma!
Many Congratulations to Jen & Loreal, and a big thanks for sharing your inspiring day ♥

Happy Wednesday! I hope the fall is treating you sweetly… I know the crisp air has me hankering for a cozy day of crafting. On that note, I have three creative DIYs to share today, starting with this preppy, all-ivory bridal bouquet! Designed by Chelsea Fuss, this piece was created with the classic bride in mind, a bride who swoons over tradition, seaside simplicity, and clean lines.

* Ivory Elegance in Tuscany by Franci’s Flowers and Rosapaola Lucibelli
Posted on September 25th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
After fourteen years together, two beautiful daughters, and tons of international travel, Paula and Louis recommitted to one another in one exquisite vow renewal in Tuscany. Towards the beginning of the relationship, Paula left her home in Portugal to be with Louis in Angola. On a trip to Florence, the couple bought rings and exchanged them in a completely private ceremony- just the two of them. Over a dozen years later, they decided to host an all-out celebration. With Francesca Piras in the design seat and Rosapaola Lucibelli capturing it all, a day of ivory elegance and breathtaking Tuscan views ensued.
Talk about exquisite… Paula looked utterly divine in her Manuel Mota for Pronovias gown and lace veil. She carried a pristine bouquet of white orchids down the aisle on the manicured grounds of Villa La Vedetta. An intimate group of loved ones from around the globe joined them for the ceremony and three days of reveling in the Italian countryside.

Beauty was absolutely everywhere, in the crystalline centerpieces, the panoramic views, and the enduring love between the Paula and Louis. The formal party ended on a high note with a marvelous five tier cake with hundreds of cascading orchids and a glowing lantern release.
We’re wishing this dashing couple decades of happiness!
