Meagan + David: A Luxe Romance in Milwaukee by Emily Steffen Photography

Meagan and David’s sophisticated Wisconsin affair is one of the most romantic pink and ivory weddings we’ve come across in quite some time.  From the bride’s chic ballerina bun to the stunning assortment of blush and champagne bridesmaid dresses, these late fall nuptials are a picture-perfect snapshot of classic elegance with a feminine twist.  Special thanks to Emily Steffen for sharing these gorgeous, airy photos of the day—they are beyond inspiring.

Meagan and David met by pure chance. She was living in Arizona and he was stationed at an Air Force base in Oklahoma when bad weather and a father’s 50th birthday placed them both in the same bar in Madison, Wisconsin.  They spent the night laughing and dancing, then traded numbers after David and his friends walked Meagan and her cousins home. It would be ten months before they’d see one another again, but they texted every single day. “We became best friends and really got to know each other before dating,” says Meagan. “I think it made us a better, stronger couple.” Twenty months later,  David proposed during a family-vacation-turned-surprise engagement in Colorado, and the couple selected Milwaukee’s historic Pfister Hotel as the site of their November nuptials.

The bride worked closely with her mother and The Pfister’s Becky Machi to plan the 1920’s-inspired reception, but a few details were left as surprises—like the sparkler-filled greeting the couple received after returning from a photo session at a nearby lake! After the wedding, the newlyweds spent a few days in Chicago, and David deployed after Thanksgiving. The couple is planning a proper tropical honeymoon when he returns this summer. Good thing Meagan has these gorgeous photos to remind her of her beloved until then! Be sure to check out our full gallery for even more details.

This wedding cries out simple but elegant! The bride is breathtaking, as is the scenery surrounding her. Obviously, no detail was too small or went overlooked. I do love the variations in color and style of each and every bridesmaid dress and how they compliment yet do not overshadow the beautiful bride. Is it difficult to coordinate who wears which dress when bridesmaids get to wear different dresses?
