Kristin + Dustin: A Snowy Pastel Barn Wedding By Emily Steffen Photography
Posted by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings

Kristin and Dustin had originally hoped for a Christmas wedding, but couldn’t find a date. Fate works in weird ways sometimes, though—there was two feet of snow on the ground for their May wedding! Set at The Enchanted Barn in Hillsdale, Wisconsin, this pastel stunner combines the best of Spring and Winter celebrations. Special thanks to Emily Steffen for sharing the day with us! From the lilac bridesmaid dresses to the amazing ceremony lighting, we are absolutely smitten.

“You never think that you would meet someone you are so compatible with in a bar, but we are each other’s best friend,” says Kristin of her new husband. The pair met at a Chicago piano joint—Kristen and her friends decided to offer up their “tour guide” services to the bus full of bachelor party attendees Dustin was celebrating with. Three years later, they were married in a simple ceremony filled with friends, family, and lilac, mint, and white blooms.

“I love taking pictures and making memories, and many of our decorations evolved from this idea,” says the bride. “Our table numbers were photographs of us at [the age of the corresponding number]. We also had our guests take Polaroids and place them in our guest book with a message, so we could remember the fun times that people had at our wedding.”

The wedding coincided with Dustin’s birthday, so a few of his relatives surprised him with a special cake and hat during the dessert portion of the reception. The duo chose “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard for their first dance, and honeymooned in Santorini and Crete (a welcome warm-weather respite from their snowy wedding!). At the end of the day, Kristen has nothing but the fondest memories of the experience. “The most important thing is that all the people who love you the most showed up to [watch you] marry the man of your dreams!” she says—and we couldn’t say it better.

Greetings, I believe your blog could possibly be having internet browser compatibility issues. When I look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine however, if opening in I.E., it’s got some overlapping issues. I simply wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other than that, excellent site!

Finally, the form must be printed and mailed in with a physical
