Nancy + Brett: A Whimsical Orange and Yellow California Vineyard Wedding By Tia & Claire Studio

Nancy and Brett wanted to celebrate the two places they hold near and dear to their hearts — Texas and California. “Wet in Texas but now live in California,” Nancy said. “Our wedding was in wine country in Sonoma County, California, but many of the elements were inspired by Texas — from the bridesmaids’ cowboy boots to the BBQ menu to the Longhorn cake toppers.” Invitations requested that guests wear hats. “As the guests started arriving, it was so fun to see all the different hats people were wearing,” she said. “They donned elaborate fascinators, slick fedoras, magnificent top hats, and more.” The citrus-inspired color scheme featured orange, yellow, and green and popped against Vine Hill Houses’s earthy scenery. During the outdoor ceremony, the couple read their own vows, which included 10 promises to each other, and guests shed tears. (More than they expected.) Nancy is a lifelong, hardcore Mariah Carey fan, so of course she infused the pop star into her not-so-subtle decor. Tables were named after her songs, and the photo booth included life-sized cutouts of her and Nick Cannon. But that’s not all! “Since Brett and I love to cook and bake together, we included a few fun kitchen-inspired pieces to the wedding decor,” Nancy said. “Our escort cards were tied with mini whisks and spatulas.” Favors were mason jars filled with layered cookie ingredients for guests to take home and bake themselves. See more of their overload of sweets here.

Brittany + Isaac: A Rustic Pink Virginia Garden Wedding By Sharon Elizabeth Photography and Freshly Wed
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: Sharon Elizabeth Photography and Freshly Wed

Brittany and Isaac first met while attending George Mason University and have been together for eight years. The lucky pair won a “Perfect Wedding” package from their photographers and received many of their wedding services for free, including their venue — Clay Hill Garden Events – which featured a rustic barn. Their “happily ever after” started on a sunny, spring day under a floral ceremony altar.”We wrote our own vows together a couple months before the wedding,” Brittany said. “They were quite short with a little humor tied in, but very much from our hearts.” Following their nuptials, cold drinks were displayed in a vintage wagon and guests posted photos to Instagram with the hashtag #ebfwedding before finding their assigned seats via tags attached to vintage shutters. Blue Ball mason jars were filled with colorful hydrangeas, sunflowers, daisies, roses, and carnations, burlap table runners, and mini jars of jam were at each reception table. The couple’s cake featured a whimsical bird-and-bunting cake topper! “We had quite the dancing crowd,” she said. “By the time the end of the night came around, we had a crowding chanting, ‘One more song!’ to the DJ.” See the full board here.

Allia + Grant: An Old World Travel-Themed Canadian Chateau Wedding By Joel Bedford Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Alia and Grant met in high school while spending a semester abroad in Europe. “We shared our first kiss on a park bench in Paris, saw Venice flood, watched the sunrise in Santorini,” Allia said. “And, most importantly, we fell in love. It was truly a fairytale beginning.” They leaned towards a more neutral color scheme — white, gold, ivory, and blush — for their chateau hotel wedding in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. “Our goal was to plan a timeless wedding, a wedding that people could look back on for generations without cringing at some fad that had long gone out of style,” she said. “With that in mind, we chose simple decor, all rose arrangements for centerpieces and bouquets, ivory linens, gold chiavari chairs, and a pianist for dinner entertainment among other things.” Because of their love of traveling, the couple’s seating arrangement chart was a world map and tables were named after the cities they had traveled to together. In lieu of a guestbook, guests signed a record (Grant is a music producer) and in addition to cake and candy buffet, guests received homemade hazelnut spread (Allia loves Nutella). See the full board here.
