Sarah and Matt first met while attending Colorado State University in 2008. Go Rams! And they were married at Cielo at Castle Pines in Castle Rock, Col. on May 11. “Our wedding day felt simple yet utterly special,” Sarah said. “After a rehearsal the day prior in the pouring rain, we were pleasantly surprised to have beautiful sunny skies for our outdoor ceremony.” The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a jeweled sash and fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a dark gray three-piece suit. The shoes? TOMS! “One special inspiration we had came from our love for succulents,” she said. Sarah’s classic white bouquet featured roses, dahlias, and hydrangeas, whereas bridesmaids’ bouquets featured peonies and succulents. “We love our families dearly and wanted to incorporate them in any way we could,” she said. “Our ceremony was officiated by the bride’s best friend’s sister. . . The tears were flowing nonstop!. . .Our parents read the Apache wedding blessing.” At the end of the ceremony, Matt broke the glass. Did you notice Sarah’s facial expression? Priceless. Guests were asked to leave their thumbprint on a tree branch along with their signatures during the reception, so the new Mr. and Mrs. could frame it, and mason jars were engraved with the Beatles’ “All You Need is Love” song, which also doubled as favors.
