Danielle and Brad were married at Santa Margarita Ranch in Santa Margarita, Calif. on May 31. “We wanted the wedding to be fun and unpretentious,” Danielle said. “We are both fairly casual and low maintenance people, so we didn’t want to go crazy over details, or kill each other.” The bride wore a strapless lace mermaid wedding gown, accessorized with a lavender sash, while the groom wore a gray three-piece suit, accessorized with a solid tie. Bridesmaids wore short sage green chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of hydrangeas, sweet peas, and seeded eucalyptus. “Whenever we go to weddings, we always sit through a long ceremony in the sun and think, ‘I wish I had a cocktail for this; I wish this was shorter.’ When we approached the wedding planning process, we decided to serve drinks beforehand and make the it short and sweet. We wanted to enjoy the time with our family and friends,” she said. Guests were also greeted with a chalkboard sign that said, “Today, two families become one. We ask that you please pick a seat and not a side.” Fun fact: Brad’s dad officiated the ceremony! Escort cards were attached to mason jars — a personalized favor combo. “Since we were having the reception in a barn, we wanted to use rustic elements without making it feel like a hoedown,” Danielle said. Tables were decorated with wooden box centerpieces atop burlap runners, chalkboard numbers, charger plates, and menu cards at each place setting. “I love horses and grew up riding horses competitively,” she said. “At the end of my sister’s speech, she brought out a mini horse named Dazzle that did tricks as our wedding gift. He was so cute, and it was such a surprise.” The newlyweds performed their first dance to Brad Paisley’s “Then,” and cut into a three-tiered buttercream frosted cake afterwards (without smashing it in each other’s faces).
