Laura and Danny were married in Leu Gardens, followed by a reception at Ceviche Tapas Bar and Restaurant in Orlanda, Fla. on October 11. The bride looked lovely in a fitted lace gown with a keyhole back. She wore her hair in a twisted low updo accessorized with a pearl pin and she donned red lipstick for the occasion. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses, pink cymbidium orchids, and snapdragons. Her sister wore a ruffled red floor-length gown as her bridesmaid.  Her groom and his best man wore black tuxedos, Danny opted for a light blue bow tie while his best man wore red. The ceremony featured Laura’s 7-year-old daughter as the flower girl in a white dress with a red sash. A harpist played Canon in D as Laura walked down the aisle with her father. Only family attended the ceremony. “It was a warm sunny day in October, the guests were given parasols during the ceremony which looked beautiful in the pictures,” Laura said. After becoming husband and wife, the newlyweds held the reception at a local Spanish tapas restaurant where friends joined the celebration. During the cocktail hour a Spanish guitarist played. The round tables featured romantic centerpieces of roses and votive candles. “I tried to keep my wedding as simple as possible,” Laura said. “The less you have going on – the less you have to worry about, and the more you can enjoy your day!” Guests enjoyed traditional Spanish cuisine such as paella among other delicious items. The dessert was a three-tier cake adorned with red roses, as well as a candy bar which guests could load up on for the ride home. We recommend taking Laura’s realistic advice! “No matter how much planning you do, something will not go the way you expected. My advice is to realize that now, so that you will be mentally prepared and not let it ruin your day.” See the full board here.

Kristen + Kevin: Blue and Lace Springtime Ohio Wedding by Laura Elaine Photography

Mr. DJ

Kristen and Kevin were married at The Carriage House in Mason, Ohio on March 22. The bride looked radiant in a strapless a-line gown and wore her hair in a curly partial updo. She carried a springtime bouquet of pink and white peonies. Her veil had special meaning because she used lace from her mother’s wedding dress to put it together. The groom looked dapper in a gray three-piece suit, which he pinned a lucky penny onto. “I wanted an intimate wedding that included as much meaningful and personal items and touches as possible,” Kristen explained. “I hoped to combine my taste for an elegant and understated wedding with a rustic touch as a way of mending our two styles.” After exchanging both traditional and personal vows in front of 100 guests, the newlyweds recessed down the aisle carrying their son as guests threw rose petals. For the reception, Kristen and Kevin offered a unique menu to their guests. “We chose to have a brunch reception which meant eggs benedict, a waffle bar, sausage and bacon and of course Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s!” Kristen said. Guests sat at round tables with white linens and burlap and lace table runners in wooden folding chairs. Tables featured a mason jar centerpiece with either a candle or pink flowers on top of a wood slice. Guests indulged in a three-tiered cake adorned with roses and watched as Kristen and Kevin played the “shoe-lywed game.” Kristen advises couples to think about what matters most to them when creating their budget. “Define the most important aspects for you and then make it happen. Whether it’s the flowers, the venue or the photographer, pick a few key things and budget from there,” Kristen said. What fabulous advice! See the full board here.

Michelle + Walter: Back-to-school Penthouse City Wedding by Perpixel Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: Perpixel Photography; Venue: AT&T Tower Penthouse; Event Design: CCL Weddings & Events; Floral Design: Milieu Florals by Hannah Koo; Cake: Merely Sweets

Michelle and Walter were married in the Penthouse of the AT&T Tower in Los Angeles, Calif. The bride looked stunning in a strapless fit ‘n flare ruched gown. She wore her hair down in loose waves and carried a yellow and white bouquet accented with greenery. Her ‘maids donned light blue chiffon dresses. The groom and his men looked handsome in a three-piece gray suit with a yellow necktie. The groomsmen also wore green and yellow plaid socks to show a pop of personality. Family and friends gathered in the penthouse and sat in silver chiavari chairs as Michelle and Walter exchanged vows. Two adorable flower girls sprinkled flower petals down the aisle, and a little gentlemen carried a sign that read “Here comes the bride.” After the ceremony, guests made their way to the back-to-school-themed reception where they were guided by mock hall passes to their seats.  The pair had guests sign a yearbook instead of a guestbook, and had them fill out Mad Libs cards to give advice and well wishes. The round tables featured yellow chevron-patterned runners and light blue napkins. Each table was decorated with floral centerpieces that matched the color scheme and was named after a place that was significant to the couple. Michelle and Walter’s chairs had school backpacks on the back of them. Guests were given personalized mint tins as a favor. The dessert display had everything from shooters to cake pops, and even included a three-tiered cake adorned with fresh florals and a fun topper. The night at the penthouse was one Michelle and Walter will never forget! See the full board here.
