Meredith and Nate were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, Ill., followed by a reception at Starved Rock Lodge in Utica, Ill. on June 29. Meredith looked stunning in an all-lace mermaid silhouette gown with cap sleeves, keyhole back, and a handmade sash. She wore her hair in an updo and carried a classic bouquet of white garden roses, peonies, hydrangea, ranunculus, and dusty miller. Her ‘maids donned light blue chiffon dresses with various necklines. The groom looked dapper in a dark suit with a light blue striped neck tie and a boutonniere made by the bride. “We had a lot of fun putting together a wedding that would be meaningful to us and to our guests,” Meredith said of the planning process. The pair exchanged vows in front of 85 family members and friends in a traditional church ceremony. A reception followed at Starved Rock Lodge, where the couple went on one of their first dates. “We wanted a small, intimate venue and wedding,” Meredith said of their choice. The reception decor featured a vintage mailbox adorned with burlap bunting for cards, a large framed photo of the couple for guests to sign, blue mason jars which were the inspiration for the color scheme. “We loved this blue/green color and the vintage charm,” Meredith said. Guests looked to the handwritten chalkboard to find their seats at tables with white linens and mercury glass votives, white flowers, and wood slice accents. Guests danced the night away and posed for pictures in the photo booth. They indulged in a monogrammed two-tiered cake adorned with a mint banner cake topper and received chocolate-covered rock favors. Meredith and Nate did their best to keep perspective throughout wedding planning. “Above all, we always tried to remember that all that mattered were the vows we made to each other to commit the rest of our lives to one another and to let God be at the center of our marriage,” Meredith said. Sarah + Dave: Yellow Southern Springtime Garden Wedding by Audra Starr Photography

stitchPhotos: Audra Starr Photography; Venue: The Gardens At Great Oaks; Planner: Lisa Robinson of Memories Made Events; Gown: Justin Alexander from Bravura; Hair: Nicole McMinn at Aura Hair & Makeup; Makeup: Lindsey Morrissey at Aura Hair & Makeup; Groom’s Attire: Hugo Boss; Flowers: Yuri Kim of Atlanta Wedding Designs; Ring: Shane Co; Bridesmaid Dresses: Macy’s; Reception Music: Hollon Yarborough of Amp’d Atlanta; Cake: Alpine Bakery; Officiant: Father Henry

Sarah and Dave were married at The Gardens At Great Oaks in Roswell, Ga. on May 3. The bride glowed in a strapless lace A-line gown accessorized with a pearl necklace, her hair in an elegantly curled side ponytail. She carried a bright bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, and yellow calla lilies. Her ‘maids opted for blue and white lace v-neck dresses and partial updos. The groom and his men looked handsome in gray suits and pale yellow neck ties. As guests arrived they were given handmade yellow programs and greeted by a yellow and gray printed sign indicating to seat wherever they pleased. “Dave and I wanted our wedding to be an extension of who we are and what we love,” Sarah explained. 80 friends and family members sat in white folding chairs as the pair exchanged vows in the garden on a gorgeous sunny day. “As it turns out we had the most beautiful day… I wouldn’t have changed a single thing, especially the weather,” Sarah said. A reception followed at The Gardens, where guests signed a large framed photo of the couple in lieu of a traditional guestbook. “We created most of the decoration items ourselves which allowed us to splurge on some fun things,” Sarah said. The couple made the terrarium centerpieces, and the groom’s mother helped Sarah make table runners and ribbon wedding wands. Tables were also dressed up with mason jars of sunflowers and baby’s breath. Family and friends enjoyed a photo booth and delicious food as part of the celebration. There was also a popcorn station featuring a variety of flavors and served in mason jars. “I’m glad we spent the time creating an atmosphere full of details that reflected us as a couple,” Sarah said of the decor.  As a favor, guests received handmade trail mix, which the couple dubbed Haverkamp Happy Trails Mix. Sarah advises newly engaged couples not to shy away from asking for help. “We had an all-star group of people that made our special day come to life exactly the way we envisioned it,” she said.
