The sweet couple that we feature in this week’s Real Wedding of the Week had a beautiful sunrise engagement session in the city of Chicago. I’m totally overcome with the loveliness of the lighting, the magnificence of the city (my hometown), and of course the sweetness between the two of them.  Clary Pfeiffer was there to capture the session in beautiful film photographs.
After a morning in the city, they headed out to where the grass is green and trees are aplenty for a few portraits in the midwest countryside.  My oh my how Clary made it look so lush and green and dreamy there…

Valentine’s Day is one of my absolute favorite days of the year.  With all the busy-ness of life, we’re reminded to pause and connect with the ones we love… It’s also the one time of year that we can go all out featuring deep reds and rich pinks, candy hearts and all the good stuff.  And honestly, what is better than that?!  To celebrate, here’s a sweet Valentine/surprise engagement shoot set to the tune of a retro bakery! Darlene and Michael are East coast transplants, living in San Francisco.  For their engagement session, they brought some New York Love to the Pacific, traipsing around the beach, downtown, and China Town!  JC Page Photography followed them around a fun day in the city, capturing their sweet connection. 

JC gushed about a love that was tangible, saying that the couple made all the tourists in China Town smile from ear to ear!

Their city hipster wardrobe is quite enviable (and perfectly unique for an engagement session).  Take note of the primary colors (looking so beautiful in film) and the very clever pattern matching.

We love how the photos showcase them.  Just them.  Proof that you don’t need to play with tons of props to get a completely memorable engagement album. Their style, their love of the city, and the sweetness between the two of them are utterly apparent, making for personal, vibrant, perfect portraits.

Jessica Lorren is one of those photographers who makes everything she captures look just utterly gorgeous.  Add in a houseboat on the coast and one beautiful couple and the scene was set.  It’s our total pleasure to share Jared and Natalie’s intimate engagement session, photographed in southern Florida.

Jessica describes Jared and Natalie as incredibly sweet and so much fun. They actually lived on this houseboat together for two years and named it the Three Little Birds after themselves and their pup Jobi. Jared is a dive boat captain and Natalie works with him. Their May wedding will have a nautical theme so the boat was just the right place for their engagement shoot.

Sigh… there’s just nothing like good film work…

According to photographer, Katie Reed, Kristen and Mitchell share a quiet, romantic kind of love.  Katie captured the pair’s affectionate engagement photos in creative spaces with beautiful natural light.

These two met seven years ago, at a church youth group meeting.  They share a love for vintage style and they collected vintage teacups, plates and birdcages for their wedding day.  It was only fitting that they were photographed at the Orange Circle in Orange, CA, where there are several fun vintage and antique shops.

As we looked at these photos, we couldn’t help but think that- love is so grand…

This colorful lil engagement sesh comes all the way from Singapore!  Weishan and KS teamed up with Confetti* Peektures for a day of fun and games in and around an art musem. The theme was colour wonderland… and a wonderland it sure was!They played with sweet handwritten signs… …and filled the day doing whimsical things.
