* Five Ring Trends We Love

Posted on June 12th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Rings, Things we heart.

It feels like high profile engagements and surprise weddings are popping up all over this spring… In honor of that, we caught up with  trend-setting, celebrity jeweler designer, Martin Katz, to talk ring trends.  Here are five that we love!

Trend no. 1: Colorful Gems

A less traditional but highly desired style, colored engagement rings vary from pink diamond to beryl, sapphires, rubies and more. Below: Martin Katz Yellow Diamond Oval Engagement Ring in 18K White Gold Microset with Diamond Border

Trend no. 2: Diamonds All Around

To enhance size and add sparkle, surrounding a center stone with diamonds is the best way to give a gorgeous diamond more character.  Below: Martin Katz Cushion Cut Diamond Ring Set in 18K White Gold Microset with a Diamond Border

Trend no. 3: Vintage Glamour

Heirloom styles are never a tired idea. Adding intricate settings and diamond detailing will make the piece stand out.  Below: 2.58 Carat Octagonal Marquise Rosecut Ring microset with 209 diamonds.

Trend no. 4: Radiant

This trend is exactly what it sounds like! Take a flawless stone with tons of facets for unbelievable sparkle and glamour.  Does this ever really go out of style?!  Below: Martin Katz 4.38 carat (E color, Internally Flawless) Cushion Rose-Cut Diamond Ring set in Platinum, accented with over 314 French-Cut and Round Diamonds.

Trend no. 5: Oval-Cut

Slightly more up-to-date than the classic round-cut, the oval-cut is modern yet traditional and chic. Below: Martin Katz Oval Diamond Engagement Ring Set Sideways in 18K White Gold With a Diamond Band

* The Bachelor: It Ends with a Ring

Posted on March 2nd, 2010 by Jeannie. Filed under Rings.

“The Bachelor” ended with a ring — and a very happy Vienna and Jake. Will they last? That is anyone’s guess, but will last forever and ever is the beautiful Neil Lane ring that Vienna is proudly wearing on her finger. Here’s the close up of the 2.72 carat, princess-cut diamond and platinum sparkler. The ring was custom designed and signed by the celebrity jeweler. What do you think? I LOVE it!

* A DIY Engagement Ring

I always say when it comes to weddings — think outside of the box and create your own rules. I think this hand-carved wooden engagement ring from Oh, Hello Friend is the sweetest, coolest idea ever!
