* Fashion Action

I just got off the phone with the talented Anya Sarre, celebrity/bridal stylist, about all things weddings! Some of her favorite things in the wedding world right now? Designer Romona Keveza (whose stunning dresses are pictured above), doing something blue with your bridal shoes, bridesmaids dresses that are actually cocktail dresses (and that your BFFs could all wear again) and wearing white gowns for your wedding that aren’t necessarily bridal. She recently styled a wedding with 13 happy bridesmaids — the reason they were so happy? Anya picked out adorable, black, v-neck David Meister cocktail dresses that they would all enthusiastically wear again.

One of the most interesting tips, I have to say, is one that Anya says is pretty standard when stars are getting red carpet ready…ready for this? Colonics! They apparently flatten the tummy like no crunches can, get rid of the bloat and help you lose a few lbs! Ahhh, the price we pay for beauty!

* The Sweet Escape!

I am in love with gourmet cupcakes for weddings, showers, birthdays … or just because! The Cupcake blog  is amazing because it not only features every possible cupcake flavor imaginable ( the one pictured is grape) — it also contains step-by-step instructions for how to create every sweet little treat.  Why waste hundreds or likely thousands of dollars on a wedding cake? Give yourself a practice run, maybe even enlist any culinary-minded pals or bridesmaids, and you may save yourself a fortune.

I have to give a twist, shake and shout out about Project Wedding’s newest feature – the wedding song guide – which features hundreds of cool tunes to play during your big event, from the bridal entrance to the cake cutting spectacle! Artists on the playlists include everyone from Elvis and Frank Sinatra to The Foo Fighters, Willie Nelson and Mariah Carey. I could spend hours listening to all of the festive music … wait, I already have!!

* Worst Wedding Traditions?

Posted on May 15th, 2009 by Jeannie. Filed under Uncategorized.

Shine just posted an article on what they call the “worst wedding traditions.”

Included in their countdown …

Matching Bridesmaids, Big Bridal Parties, Long Vows, Throwing Rice, Assigned Seating, Expensive Wedding Favors, Throwing the Bouquet, Removing the Garter and Leaving for the Honeymoon the Morning After.

Would love to know your thoughts on this one - agree with any, a few or none of the above?
