If you’re having a farm wedding, or a casual, summertime celebration, this one’s for you!  A dish towel fruit tote is the perfect way to say, “thanks for sharing our day!”  You’ll earn brownie points for the organic goodness inside and best of all, you can coordinate the fabrics and patterns with your wedding colors and theme!

To make the totes, you will need a dish towel and fresh fruit.  To save money, you could also make these with fabric cut down to a 10×20 inch rectangles.

Step One.  Fill the cloth with fresh fruit.

Step Two. Taking the two opposite ends of the cloth,  wrap in and over the fruit;  tie the ends into a knot on top.

Step Three.  Attach a small note of thanks and send your guests home happily snacking.

So deliciously darling!

Making tassels is a super easy and  fresh way to top your favor boxes!

To make one tassel you will need a 15 inch length of ribbon. I like the look of elastic cording (purchased at Joann’s) and thick paper ribbon (purchased at Cost Plus) best for this project. You will also need a bit of skinny gold cording. Play around with different colors and texture to find the perfect combo for your favors! You should be able to find all these supplies at a local craft store.Step One. Cut the ribbon you will be using into 3 inch sections (15 inches will leave you with five).

Step Two.  Combine the ribbon together and fold in half.

Step Three. Wrap the skinny gold cording around the top of your fold about 1/4 inch from the top. Wrap about 10 times around for a thick looking band and tie off to finish.

Step Four. Adorn favors with these pretty tassels.

Custom favors can be pricey, but just a few pieces of candy are suddenly a little treasure in these handmade favor bags. Made from hardened fabric, they keep their pretty form no matter what the shape of the gift inside. Materials needed: fabric in an 8 inch square for each bag, 2 inch balloons, liquid fabric stiffener, coordinating thread and something special to fill the bags with.Step One: Cut the fabric to size, blow up the balloons (one per bag) and tie a string around the end of each balloon.Step Two: Dredge the fabric length completely in the fabric stiffener, be sure the entire piece is covered.Step Three: Cover the balloon and hang to dry overnight.Step Four: Once the fabric is completely dry, between 24-48 hours, gently pop the balloon underneath and remove it from the hardened mold. Trim any fabric edges that go beyond the top of the bag shape.Step Five: Stuff each bag with candy or small favors and include a note of thanks. Tie the bags with a coordinating thread!
