Lisa + Austin: Midwestern Natural Rustic Barn Wedding by Jenny Haas Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

stitchPhotos: Jenny Haas Photography; Reception Venue: Brookside Farm; Flowers: Baumann’s Florist; Gown: Allure from Coming Attractions; Hair: Michele from MC Hair; Makeup: Alyssa from MC Hair; Groom’s Attire: Express; Bridesmaid Dresses: Jordan Fashions from Catan Fashions; DJ: Steve Ransom of Night Music DJs; Caterer: Old Carolina BBQ; Dessert: Hartville Kitchen; Ceremony Venue: St. Bernard Catholic Church

Lisa and Austin were married in St. Bernard Catholic Church with a reception that followed at Brookside Farms in Akron, Ohio on October 3. Lisa looked flawless in a fit-and-flare lace gown with a scalloped bateau neckline, her hair done to one side and softly curled. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, baby’s breath, and lavender. Her ‘maids donned long one-shoulder gray chiffon dresses, while the groom and his men opted for a classic black suit and matching skinny ties. The 230 guests gathered in the church for a traditional ceremony. After the couple exchanged vows, they recessed out of the church, where their guests waved banners that read “Oh Joy!” A rustic-inspired reception followed at a nearby barn. “The vintage/rustic approach guided my wedding planning,” Lisa said of her inspiration. “I wanted to keep things classy while showing off our personalities.” The wooden barn was decorated with string lights, white drapery, and vintage chandeliers. Pumpkin lanterns and an old wooden chest with photos were also featured in the space. “The grayish weather set a very poetic tone for the wedding; both inside the church and the barn,” Lisa said. Guests sat at round tables in white folding chairs as they dined on barbecue! For dessert guests enjoyed sweet and sugary peach cakes as well as pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies. “If you have a specific vision, go for it. You won’t have any regrets when all is said and done,” Lisa advised. See the full board here.

Ingird + Justin: Yellow and Gray Fall Resort Wedding in Wisconsin by Light Source Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

stitchPhotos: Light Source Photography; Ceremony Venue: Anchor Covenant Church; Reception Venue: Geneva National Golf Resort; Gown: Anaiss from A Joyful Occasion; Groom’s Attire: Men’s Wearhouse; Hair and Makeup: Mia Faccia Salon; Shoes: TOMS; Flowers: Lilypots and Pesches Greenhouse; Groom’s Attire: Men’s Wearhouse; Cake: Bittner’s Bakery; Planner: Jenna Penkalski

Ingrid and Justin were married at Anchor Covenant Church, followed by a reception at Geneva National Golf Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisc. on September 13. Ingrid looked fabulous is an A-line gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline and finished with a yellow beaded sash. She donned her hair in a low updo and carried a bright bouquet of yellow roses, daffodils, billy balls, ranunculus, and succulents. Her ‘maids opted for short light gray chiffon dresses, while the groom and his men looked dapper in gray suits and yellow neck ties. The intimate crowd of 95 guests gathered at Anchor Covenant Church as the pair exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony. “My groom did an amazing job with the ceremony set up,” Ingrid said of the ceremony decor. “He had a vision of what to do with our door- which was taken from my dad’s childhood home, which my grandfather built, and used it as the main piece behind us as we said our vows.” What a sentimental touch! A reception followed at a nearby golf resort. Guests were greeted by a chalkboard sign decorated with yellow balloons. ” When arriving to the reception, everyone was gushing about the food and amazing appetizers that were available,” Ingrid said. Appetizers included mini grilled cheeses, vegetarian egg rolls, and Italian sausage. The reception space was filled with handmade touches including baby photos of the couple, handwritten place cards (by the groom), and creative table names. Guests were asked to leave their cards in a rustic basket adorned with bunting. For dessert guests enjoyed a three-tier square cake with yellow and gray frosted roses and a Mr. and Mrs. topper. Ingrid advises couples to keep their heads up while planning. “Positive attitudes will make all the difference when little things do not go the way your planned.” See the full board here.

Nicole and Derrell were married at Secrets Aura Cozumel in Cozumel, Mexico on June 28. The bride looked stunning in a ruffled mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline and a jeweled sash. She donned her hair in a low chignon bun and carried a bouquet of red long-stemmed roses. Her ‘maids opted for various red lace dresses while the groom and his men looked dapper in gray suits with black bow ties. “Mexico is known for its beautiful and bright pops of colors, so I thought it would be a great complement for the wedding to use the color red which reminded me of Mexico,” Nicole said of her wedding inspiration. The 40 guests gathered on the pier for the intimate evening ceremony. After they officially tied the knot, a nighttime reception was held on the beach under palm trees and a gorgeous chandelier. Guests sat at a long banquet table with glass cylinder centerpieces filled with red roses. “I always loved the color white at big events because its very timeless and classic,” Nicole said of the red color scheme. “I wanted to try to keep everything as ‘clean’ as possible but adding pops of color here and there as ode to Mexico really worked.” Guests were given Mexico-inspired favors, which included bottles of tequila and mini maracas! Guests enjoyed a simple two-tier cake adorned with red roses for dessert. Nicole recommends a destination wedding for couples in the planning process! “Having a destination wedding was super fun and I believe it was less stress than a local wedding,” Nicole said.
