Stacy and Matt were married at Morais Vineyards and Winery in Bealeton, VA on September 6. The bride looked stunning in a strapless ruched mermaid gown with a ruffled skirt and flower beading on the bodice. She donned her hair in a curly side ponytail and accessorized with a brooch. She carried a bouquet of chocolate cosmos, ruby dahlias, ivory roses, purple stock, two-tone calla lilies, green amaranthus, and seeded eucalyptus. The groom and his men opted for light gray suits and bow ties. The couple tied the knot outside as guests looked on from white folding chairs lined with floral arrangements in brass cone stands. “It was a hot day at the vineyards, though everyone was in high spirits because it was supposed to rain and never did,” Cavin, the photographer, said of the day. Two adorable flower girls and ring bearer also participated in the ceremony.  A reception followed inside where guests were greeted by a welcome table displaying a wine barrel card box. Guests sat at round tables with white linens, purple napkins, and floral arrangements in tall gilded vases. Drinks were served in green miniature bottles covered in gold glitter. “The toasts were brilliant and the bride and groom were full of energy and love during their reception events,” Cavin recalled. For dessert guests enjoyed cupcakes with purple sugar toppers. See the full board here.

Liz + Ryan: Rustic Fall Barn Wedding in Connecticut by Stylish & Hip Weddings
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

stitchPhotos: Stylish & Hip Weddings; Venue: The Barns at Wesleyan Hills; Gown: Watters from Lovely Bride; Groom’s Attire: The Gentleman’s Emporium; Band: The Silver Arrow Band; Dessert: Macarons Connecticut

Liz and Ryan were married at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, CT on November 9. The bride looked stunning in a strapless tiered organza gown, a low chignon bun, and a cathedral length veil. She carried a fall-inspired bouquet of dahlias, daisies, celosia, eucalyptus, and pinecones. Her ‘maids donned gray chiffon gowns with various necklines. The groom and his men were clad in dark vested suits, bow ties, and boutonnieres of dried leaves and wildflowers. “Our approach to our wedding was low-key elegance,” Liz said of the wedding day. “We knew we wanted a beautiful rustic setting, and also a one-stop shop, so our guests could arrive and just have a great time. The Barns at Wesleyan Hills was a perfect setting because it allowed us to do the ceremony and reception in the same location.” After a short ceremony officiated by the bride’s brother in front of 120 friends and family members, a cocktail hour followed. The reception took place inside the barn where guests sat at long banquet tables. “Our decorations were simple and personal…and the event focused on everything we love: good food, good drink, good music, good friends,” Liz said of the reception. Tables featured whimsical centerpieces made of tree rounds from the bride’s parents backyard, antique lanterns, and mismatched clocks. A festive fall arrangement of ferns, lotus pods, daisies, dahlias, pinecones, and purple wildflowers were also featured. For dessert, guests enjoyed a macaroon tower and a pecan pie to celebrate Ryan’s birthday, which was two days earlier. The couple was really happy with the way the day turned out. “We were really happy with the end result: a gorgeous setting and a raucous fun party,” Liz said. See the full board here.
