Carly + Ryan: Laidback Handmade Lake Wedding by Kelley Jordan Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

stitchPhotos: Kelley Jordan Photography; Ceremony Venue: Central Park Chapel; Reception Venue: Eldean Shipyard; Gown: Maggie Sottero at Becker’s Bridal; Hair: Jennifer Grace Bridal Hair Stylist; Makeup: Faces by Linda G; Groom’s Attire: Ralph Lauren; Bridesmaid Dresses: J.Crew

Carly and Ryan were married at Central Park Chapel followed by a reception at Eldean Shipyard in Holland, Mich. on June 7. Carly looked stunning in a chiffon and lace gown complete with illusion lace short sleeves and a scalloped v-neckline. She donned her hair in an intricate chignon and carried a bouquet of peonies, ranunculus, and roses. Her ‘maids looked fabulous in short v-neck navy blue dresses. The groom wore a light gray suit with a blue checkered tie. His groomsmen complemented his look by donning gray dress pants, white button-down shirts, and matching neck ties. “We wanted our wedding to be simple, relaxed, and fun,” Carly said. “Since we wanted to get married near Lake Michigan, the chapel on the lake was a natural fit.” The couple tied the knot in front of 230 friends and family members in the chapel. Guests enjoyed drinks in koozie favors after the ceremony ended and before the reception began. “The boat shed venue provided us with a blank slate to be creative with homemade decorations and a lot of personal touches,” Carly said of the reception space. Personal touches included an oar guestbook for people to sign, a rustic lantern where guests could drop off cards, as well as photos of the couple. Guests sat at round tables covered in white linens, each featuring simple floral centerpieces and mini chalkboard table numbers. “At one point during our reception Ryan and I took a step back and just watched as all of our friends and family were there to celebrate us and our marriage,” Carly said. Everyone danced the night away and then sent the bride and groom off into their new life with a sparkler exit. Carly’s advice for couples? “Have fun with the wedding planning process.” See the full board here.

Annemarie + Phillip: Navy Blue Nautical Seaside Wedding by Ashley Largesse Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

stitchPhotos: Ashley Largesse Photography; Venue: Atlantica; Gown: Alfred Angelo; Hair: Lisa at Giovanna’s Salon;Groom’s Attire: Vera Wang; Invitations: Invitation Consultants; Groom’s Attire: Vera Wang; Bridesmaid Dresses: David’s Bridal; Cake: Konditor Meister; Makeup: Laura at GLO; Flowers: Almquist Nursery

Annemarie and Philip were married at St. Mary’s Church in Quincy, Mass. followed by a reception at Atlantica in Cohasset, Mass. on October 25. Annemarie looked fabulous in a satin strapless A-line gown with her hair donned in an updo and accented with a braided headband. She accessorized with a three-strand pearl necklace and carried a bouquet of coral-orange dahlias, blue hydrangeas, ivory roses, orange waxflower, thistle, and brunia berries. Her ‘maids opted for strapless satin floor-length navy blue gowns, while the groom and his men donned gray three-piece suits and matching navy blue neck ties. The pair exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony in front of 150 family and friends. A reception followed at a venue nestled right on the shoreline. “Phil is a merchant marine and I have an infatuation with all things nautical. We naturally went with a nautical theme,” Annemarie said of their wedding inspiration. The reception featured items such as a nautical card box and a wooden sign displaying an anchor motif and the couple’s wedding date and last name. Guests sat at tables with white linens, and featured little blue boats complete with arrangements of gerber daisies, waxflower, and hydrangeas. “The flowers, centerpieces and boutonnieres were hands down my favorite wedding accent,” Annemarie said. Friends and family enjoyed dinner as well as a three-tier white fondant cake with navy blue ribbon accents and a monogram. Annemarie recommends couples try to keep a cool head while planning. “Planning gets chaotic, things go wrong, but you still get to spend forever with your husband, what is better than that?”  See the full board here.
