Fayette + Mark: A Peacock-Inspired Summer Virginia Vineyards Wedding By Aaron Watson Photography

Fayette and Mark were married at Keswick Vineyards near Charlottesville, Va last summer. “We went against all advice and held out for our dream outdoor wedding,” Fayette said. “Our risky decision paid off, as we had a clearing from the rain and clouds for a few hours.” Fayette walked down the aisle wearing an ivory peplum satin wedding gown, accessorized with a pair of Badgley Mischka brooch-detailed shoes, arm-in-arm around her parents. The interfaith Jewish-Christian ceremony featured a twist — they each broke a glass, rather than Mark performing the ritual solo. Guests kept cool with fans to beat the July heat, while the newlyweds signed their ornate marriage contract called the ketubah. Keeping with the peacock-theme, reception tables were decorated with tall floral centerpieces with feathers and branches, purple table numbers and napkins, and candles. “We didn’t end up having a guest book, but my parents surprised us with an enlarged photo of our English Bulldog, Thelma,” she said. “Guests were able to pass along their well wishes around the picture’s border.” As dinner and dancing continued through the night inside the tent, they were lifted onto chairs for one last celebratory hora, and sent off to their honeymoon with sparklers galore.
