* Is the Carrie Bradshaw Flower Corsage Making a Comeback?

Posted on April 29th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Bridal Fashion, Bridal Market Spring 2014.

From nameplate necklaces to Manolo Blahnik mania, Sex & the City kicked off many trends in both the fashion and bridal worlds. Feminine and flirty, one our favorite Carrie Bradshaw looks was the flower corsage she pinned to belts, lapels, and everything in-between. Many designers showed blooms pinned at the waist for Spring 2014, and we couldn’t be more happy that the style just might be making a comeback. It’s the perfect something extra for a spring ceremony, don’t you think?

* Fashion Friday: Peplums with a Twist!

Posted on April 26th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Bridal Fashion, Bridal Market Spring 2014, Wedding Dress.

Here at Project Wedding, we’re big fans of any fashion-y spin on traditional bridal style. While peplums will always be a flirty addition to any silhouette, we appreciate that designers went slightly more avant-garde with the look this season. Instead of a small, even ruffle all the way around the waist, the new take for Spring 2014 is larger, asymmetrical, and architectural.  We love the look, but what you do think? Would you wear it, or are you sticking with the standard style?

* Trend Snippet: The Peplum Effect

Posted on May 18th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.

New York Bridal Week was filled with peplum-ey dresses… there were different shapes, different styles, and different sizes of peplums… and I just couldn’t help but notice that they have quite the effect.  On this oh-so-fashionable Friday, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites!

Angel Sanchez

Carolina Herrera

Amsale

Romona Keveza Legends

Alfred Angelo

Junko Yoshioka

So.. what’s your take… what kind of effect does this sometimes frilly, sometimes flouncy, sometimes chic, and other times sophisiticated little peplum have on you?

(and don’t you worry, if you’re not so much in peplum-mode, we’ve got tons more NEW bridal fashion right {over here}).

Have a most fabulous weekend…

* Trend Snippet: Sleeves Please

Posted on November 4th, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.

This past New York bridal market was really such a treat.  While strapless gowns have stolen the show year after year, this season was different.  We saw sleeves in all shapes and size… beautiful, feminine, sheer sleeves… short and long, beaded and simple, one shoulder sleeves, and off the shoulder sleeves! Whew!  It was a sleeve extravaganza that we enjoyed very much.  Here’s a peek at the sleeve trend with looks from our fave designers:

1. Elbow Length Sleeves

2. Asymmetrical Sleeves
