Denisse and Nick were married at Wedgewood Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills, Calif. on October 18. The couple first met almost seven years ago, working at Nordstrom. “He is full of love and energy, he always finds ways to get me out of my shell, and puts a smile on my face, which I absolutely love,” Denisse said. “I couldn’t be happier.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace trumpet wedding gown, accessorized with a fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a solid bow tie. Bridesmaids wore long purple chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, peonies, and hydrangeas. “The weather was great,” she said. “It was warm with a light breeze by the evening.” After being wed in front of 100 family and friends, the reception followed inside the clubhouse. “We love the era of the 1920’s thru the 40’s and wanted to bring that up-to-date in our wedding,” Denisse said. “We kept repeating to each other that we wanted a ‘classic wedding.'” Tables were surrounded by chiavari chairs, decorated with gold charger plates, branch centerpieces dripping in crystals, and stemless wine glasses filled with mints, which also served double-duty as favors. Since the newlyweds were inspired by Louis Armstrong tunes, they performed their first dance to “La Vie En Rose.” A photo booth even provided extra entertainment too. Ashley and Devin were married at the Oviatt Penthouse in Los Angeles, Calif. on November 1 after 12 years of dating. “We were immediately entranced by the vintage style and elegance of the venue,” Ashley said. “It had such a retro charm with its original Lalique stained glass and 1920s architecture. Our hearts skipped a beat, and we instantly knew we had found our venue.” Hence, why they chose an Art Deco theme. The bride wore a sweetheart a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a jeweled headpiece in her side swept updo, while the groom wore a wide-lapel gray suit, accessorized with a chess-inspired tie. The rooftop ceremony began after sunset around 6 p.m. Of course, Ashley walked down the aisle to “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Ray. Following the nuptials, the reception followed with “green light” cocktails and a screening of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. Tables were decorated with sequin linens and centerpieces featuring dahlias and ranunculuses. Even rentals such as typewriters and suitcases added to the decor. “Our wedding favors were mini champagne bottles that were spray painted gold and covered in glitter,” she said. “I topped them with tags I designed from our photographer’s lovely engagement pictures.” The guestbook? Signing a copy of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby! See the full board here.

Shantel + Ben: An Art Deco-Inspired Pink Connecticut Country Club Wedding By Katie Slater Photography

These college sweethearts first met at University of Connecticut. “We were praying for a beautiful spring day by the ocean for our wedding and luckily our prayers were answered,” Shantel said. She walked down the aisle wearing a lace San Patrick gown accessorized with a beaded waist embellishment and carried a bright bouquet of peonies, ranunculuses, and roses at Harkness State Park. Standing next to Shantel were her bridesmaids dresses in long chiffon dresses, and of course, Ben, who wore a classic black tuxedo and bow tie. The reception was held in a grand ballroom that was originally designed and preserved from the 1920s. “We fell in love with the crystal chandeliers, marble tiled floors, and warm feeling,” she said. Centerpieces were in gold vessels surrounded by candles, and guests went home with a homemade favor from the groom — coconut Belgian white ale. See the full board here.
