Christina and Joe were married on the bride’s parents’ beach, with the reception following in their backyard in Traverse City, Mich. on June 27. The bride looked classic with a hint of vintage in an all-lace strapless fit ‘n flare gown accessorized with a jeweled belt and a birdcage veil. She wore her hair in a delicate updo and carried a bouquet of garden roses and lamb’s ear. Her ‘maids donned pale green short chiffon dresses with various necklines. The groom and his men opted for gray suits with matching ties. The couple tied the knot on the beach under a birch tree arch in front of just 40 guests who sat in wooden folding jars marked with floral mason jars. “We wanted to have a small, personal ceremony and reception with just a few close family and friends,” Joe said. An acoustic guitar player and violin player provided the music for the ceremony, as well as the reception, which followed under a tent. Guests dropped notes for the couple into a wish jar, played games such as cornhole and Jenga, and claimed their chalkboard tag escort cards which were clothespinned to a wired display board. “The weather for our wedding day was great – lots of sunshine,” Joe said. The reception featured a summer beverage station with iced tea and lemonade. Guests enjoyed a three tier white cake adorned with pink flowers along with an assortment of brightly-colored macaroons. The couple’s getaway transportation? A subaru decked out with “Just Married” bunting. “The night was capped by a send-off in which we walked out under the glow of sparklers held by our family and friends,” Joe said. What a magical exit! Paul + Joe: Purple Intimate Backyard Wedding in New York by Jayd Gardina Photography

Paul and Joe were married at their private residence in East Hampton, New York on September 13. One groom looked dapper in a black fitted suit and light purple tie, while the other looked just as handsome in a gray checkered suit and dark blue tie. The 65 guests in attendance sat in brown chiavari chairs with navy blue padding and burlap ribbon . “We really love our home in East Hampton and have put a lot of love and effort into the landscaping,” Paul explained. The ceremony was performed by their yoga instructor and both grooms read personal vows, which prompted a few tears from guests. A trio from the Julliard School of Music played as well. After they officially tied the knot, they hosted the reception right in their backyard! Guests sat at three different rectangular banquet tables covered in navy blue denim linens and featured hurricane lanterns and floral arrangements as centerpieces. The nearby pool had white mums floating in it, and candles around the perimeter. “Our backyard was a beautiful setting to celebrate our special event,” Paul said. After the filling family-style dinner, guests were treated to a three tier cake topped with two Adirondack chairs and other beachy elements. Tartlets and cookies were also available. Their best advice for couples on their wedding day? “Be in the moment and make sure to take time to enjoy the event privately as a couple,” he said. “Occasionally step away from the guests so you can savor and remember the incredibly special occasion.” See the full board here.

Preppy Pink and Blue South Carolina Beach Wedding by Love Dot Photography

Photos: Love Dot Photography; Ceremony Venue: Steam Gun Beach; Reception Venue: Port Royal Golf Club; Bride’s Gown: Rosa Clara from Lace Bridal Couture; Groom & Groomsmen Attire: J.Crew Blazer, Vineyard Vines Pants and Tie, Ralph Lauren Shirt, and Sperry Shoes; Bridesmaid Dresses: J.Crew; Transportation: Sea Pines Trolley; Music: DJ Timothy Vernon; Cake: Adam Eudy Cakes

Dresden and Peter were married on Steam Gun Beach followed by a reception at Port Royal Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. on May 10. The bride looked radiant in a strapless sweetheart drop waist gown. She pulled her hair in a partial updo and carried a bouquet of pink and purple hydrangeas tied with a tulle ribbon (which was put together by her parents). Her ‘maids donned navy blue one-shoulder dresses and carried preppy pink hydrangea bouquets. The groom and his men looked dapper in light pink pants, dark jackets, and blue bow ties. The wedding took place right on the beach in front of a bamboo chuppah as 100 guests watched in folding chairs. For Dresden, this location was an easy decision. “I grew up going to Hilton Head every summer since I was born and always had said I wanted a wedding on the beach there,” she explained. Young gentlemen in pink bow ties carried a banner down the aisle that read “Here comes the bride.” After officially tying the knot, the wedding party rode in style on a red trolley to the reception. The reception tablescapes featured various beach decor such as seashells and starfish. There were also votive candles inside white lanterns for a beachy effect. The three-tier blue cake was adorned with seashells and starfish as well. Guests filled favor bags with various candy from the display Dresden and Peter created, they also offered them glow sticks to use on the dance floor. Talk about creative! “Stick to what you have always imagined ,” Dresden encourages. “Everyone will be trying to talk you into what they have envisioned for the wedding, but you want it to be the perfect day.” See the full board here.

Linda + Hugh: Intimate Gray and Yellow Hawaii Oceanside Wedding by Stephen Ludwig Photography

Linda and Hugh were married at Lanikuhonua in Oahu, Hawaii on November 12. The bride looked radiant in a strapless mermaid gown with a ruffled skirt and bejweled belt. She wore her hair in a side swept curly ponytail and accessorized with a birdcage veil. She carried a bright bouquet of roses, mums, kale, craspedia, and silver brunia balls. Her ‘maids donned gray strapless dresses with yellow belts. The groom looked handsome in navy dress pants, a gray vest, and a navy blue bow tie. His men wore the same but swapped out the gray vest for some stylish suspenders. “To determine colors, we decided to each pick one color that describes our personalities,” Hugh said. “The end result was a color combo we both loved and found meaningful.” The couple tied the knot in front of a wooden structure decorated with flowers overlooking the ocean. Nearly 100 guests looked on as they sipped Mai Tai cocktails out of personalized jars. A reception followed outside at long banquet tables and chiavari chairs. Guests found their seats from paper post cards. The pair even offered a custom coffee bar and had the paper cups made with their names and wedding date on them. Each guest received a bag of kona coffee beans as a wedding favor. Linda and Hugh also held a traditional tea ceremony. “Our tea ceremony was an ode to our Asian culture,” Hugh explained. “We poured tea for the elders and our moms as sign of gratitude in exchange for traditional red Chinese envelopes. Linda wore a traditional Chinese dress for this portion of the day.” Family and friends indulged in a three-tier cake adorned with succulents and danced the night away on the outdoor dance floor. “Everyone present was family to us,” Hugh said.
