Leah + Eric: A Modern Black-Tie Texas Rooftop Wedding By Hilary Grace Photography

Leah and Eric were married in a traditional church ceremony at First Presbyterian followed by a reception at The Venue at 400 North Ervay in Dallas, Texas on March 22. The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown with all-over embroidered beading, accessorized with a fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a solid bow tie and pocket square. Bridesmaids wore a combination of short and long green chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of peonies, hydrangeas, and anemones. What could be cooler than cocktail hour on a rooftop deck in the heart of downtown? Guests enjoyed getting cozy on contemporary couches, accented with yellow and gray patterned decorative pillows and lit with geometric chandeliers. Since they both are wine distributors, it only made sense to subtly wove that theme into the decor. For example, escort cards were displayed on initialed corks, centerpieces were filled in wooden crates, and numbers were printed on bottles. In lieu of a guest book, well wishes were written on a selection of reds and whites for the newlyweds to open on future anniversaries. A three-tiered textured fondant and buttercream-frosted cake was served after dinner and in between dancing, but there was also a surprise! A mini chocolate cake for Eric. See the full board here.

Heather + Ben: A Classic Black-Tie Lakeside Spring Minnesota Wedding By Mad Chicken Studio
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: Mad Chicken Studio

Four generations of women in Heather’s family married in Duluth, Minnesota and even though the couple lived on the East Coast, they wanted to follow this tradition. “Ultimately, my parents were thrilled that we were able to celebrate together in a city that means so much to my family’s history,” Heather said. While planning the wedding, she had anticipated the weather to be closer to 70 or 80 degrees, but shockingly, it turned out to be balmy 45 degrees! Luckily, Heather stole her sister’s white fur bolero to keep warm. She also wore pearl-studded flats by Kate Spade, an heirloom Oleg Cassini wedding gown, and a J.Crew statement necklace. Each bridesmaid wore a black cocktail dress that best defined her personal style and personality while groomsmen wore black tuxedos and bow ties. The ceremony took place in front of 120 guests overlooking Lake Superior, and the reception was held in a tent filled with candles, moss, and succulents. The best part? The cake. “I will dream of this cake for the rest of my life,” she said. And the 17-piece band that played jazz and blues tunes throughout the night. See the full board here.

Ally + Jason: A Formal Candlelit Georgia Arts Center Wedding By My Life Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: My Life Photography

From the groom’s facial expression during the first look, you can tell he’s in love with his bride. Ally and Jason were married at King Plows Art Center in Atlanta, Ga. in a room entirely lit by candles along the aisles and on the fireplace mantle. Not to mention the brick wall backdrop too! Ally accessorized her beaded sweetheart wedding gown with a full net veil and bouquet of monochromatic roses, bridesmaids wore long black dresses, and the groom and his groomsmen wore a bow tie and ties, respectively, and calla lily and dusty miller boutonnieres. In lieu of escort cards, seating arrangements were displayed in frames. Clusters of paper lanterns hung above banquet tables of hydrangeas, sparkles, and patterned linens. Ally surprised Jason with a groom’s cake of his favorite football team — the Florida Gators, in addition to their monogrammed square cake, they performed their first dance to Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up,” and guests waved sparklers as they exited the reception. Johanna + Christopher: An Elegant Purple and Gold Black-Tie New Jersey Wedding By Jonathan Young Weddings

Johanna and Christopher chose the best view of Manhattan for their wedding at Maritime Parc in Jersey City, N.J. A custom dotted circle with their names in it was featured on almost all the paper goods, including the booklet invitations, signage, ceremony programs, table numbers, and menu cards. “We thought this was fun but meaningful, as a circle is forever, it has no end,” Johanna said. She wore a two wedding gowns, each designed by San Patrick and Maggie Sottero, respectively, and accessorized with drop diamond earrings, Manolo Blahnik shoes, and a ruched clutch. Bridesmaids wore Wtoo sweetheart chiffon dresses and personalized their looks with statement necklaces. “The bridesmaids bouquets were made entirely of nerines, typically used as a filler flower,” she said. And the bridal bouquet was made of calla lilies and orchids. Groomsmen wore gray Alabaster & Chess suits and personalized their jacket linings with patterned fabrics. The ceremony included a wine box with sealed letters that the couple will open on their fifth anniversary, whereas, the reception included tall floral centerpieces filled with gold coiled wire, Baci chocolate favors, and a puzzle guestbook. Guests waved ribbon wands and watched the couple exit in an antique car. Find out which model in the full board here.
