* A Tuscan-Inspired Real Wedding by Amanda Patrice

Posted on January 24th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.

Jon and Keri first met while studying abroad in Italy, but it wasn’t until years later, when they ran into each other at a mutual friend’s birthday party in California, that the sparks flew. Their wedding was both a fun celebration of their love, and a snapshot of gorgeous, Tuscan-inspired details.  In fact, I’m in awe of just how much these photos by Amanda Patrice take me straight to the dreamy, rustic Italian countryside…I just love the sophistication of black bridesmaid’s dresses…  The palette featured black, pewter, and hints of purple.  Cupid’s Arrow Floral Studio worked with heavy greenery in the bouquets and décor to create a balancing effect, a pairing of deep hues with organic accents.

The Mission Inn couldn’t have been a more perfect venue…with its amazing architecture and old world ambiance. Italian lights hung from above, while authentic postcards marked each table.

A special thanks to Amanda Patrice for sharing these awe-inspiring photos!

Sending heartfelt wishes to this beautiful couple, Jon + Keri…

SMS Photography sent over this pretty Southern wedding earlier this week.  When I saw the sweet couple (Ben + Blair) and the unique artichoke and succulent florals, I had to share it!  Check out the lanterns in the  ceremony set-up and the brightly lit trees for some inspired lighting ideas, too…

* Black and Ecru Wedding Palette

Posted on August 25th, 2009 by Alyson. Filed under Color Palettes, Wedding Inspiration.

I think that black and white is really one of the most classic and elegant options for a wedding. Today I’m putting my own spin on that tradition by exchanging the white for a warm cream or ecru color.

Maybe it’s the similarity of the colors to sepia photographs, the feather and rhinestone accents, or the vintage 1930’s style of the dress, but I find this palette very romantic and sophisticated in a charmingly old-fashioned way.

The domestic goddess Martha Stewart is responsible for the lovely black and cream tables and the anemone bouquet in the bottom right corner.

The cream colored bouquet on the left was photographed by Victoria Pearson.

The anemone and rose centerpieces are from The Knot.

The white with black peep-toe shoes are by Marc Jacobs.

The adorable sepia toned wedding photos are by Red Photo Co., but I saw them on one of my favorite blogs, Snippet & Ink.

The photo of the smooching couple in the bottom left is by Myrtle & Marjoram.

The ruffled chiffon dress (that I love) is Notte by Marchesa.

The cream and black wedding cake in the top right corner was made by Take the Cake, but I saw it on Hip Hostess.

My Etsy finds:

The feather hair accessories are by YJdesign.

The Fifth Avenue feather and crystal necklace is from sweetgrassmill.

The heart flags garland is from Cori Kindred.

The Thank You envelope seals are from Kisfor Calligraphy.

I forgot to mention with my post yesterday, but if you haven’t been to Keen To Be Seen, I always have a wedding song of the day to accompany my inspiration boards. Please come over and say hello!
