* Lauren + Matthew: A Fun Fall Fête by Larsen’s Photography
Posted on May 16th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings.
Like purple and burlap? Then you’ll LOVE Matthew and Lauren’s vineyard wedding! This cheery celebration took place at the scenic Brutocao Cellars in Hopland, California, and we are absolutely smitten with the florals. From the bouquets to the centerpieces and back to the cake, the colorful combo of shades proves that fall wedding decor doesn’t have to be all moody reds and oranges. Thanks to Dandelion Floral for reminding us of that, and to Larsen’s Photography for sending over the pics!
How the couple met: Mutual friends invited Lauren to Matthew’s annual holiday party and the two quickly got to talking. After four years of dating, Mike surprised Lauren with a small box in Lake Tahoe. She originally thought it contained earrings, but once she realized he was proposing she made him get down on one knee in the middle of the street and ask for her hand the traditional way.
* Lacey + Kevin: A Purely Elegant California Wedding by Kristeen La Brot Events

Lacey and Kevin’s love story began online, when she gave him a wink on match.com. Since they’ve now landed in this lovely corner of the internet, you can guess their eventual first date was a good one! Nearly two years later, Kevin proposed in Central Park, and they planned their purely elegant California wedding long-distance. The bride says, ‘Planning a California wedding from New York isn’t exactly stress-free, but with an amazing wedding planner and fabulous vendors, anything is possible!’ Kristeen LaBrot helped to ensure every beautiful detail of the gold, silver, and pastel-palette wedding was in place, while Toby Tucker captured everything from their happy tears to the classic décor elements in these crisp, vibrant photos.
Looking every bit the classic beauty in her Enzoani gown, the bride wore her hair neatly upswept and carried one gorgeous monochromatic bouquet designed by Enchanted Garden. One of Lacey’s favorite parts of the day was carving out some pre-ceremony time with Kevin.

The pair said vows and sealed their lifetime commitment at the Pepperdine Chapel, then hosted guests at a gorgeous banquet room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a lake for the reception. The room was awash in the soft metallic and pastel palette, with crystal candle-holders peeking above dahlia and garden rose centerpieces. The details were utterly romantic and photographed so beautifully in the sunlit room. Of the design, Lacey says ‘I love the contrast of champagne and silver colors; and when you combine them with tall crystal candle holders and soft colored flowers: all I see is beauty.’ A bride with impeccable style!
* Kalista + Kyle: A Romantic Eco-Friendly Arts Center Wedding by Sequins & Candy Photography
Posted on April 22nd, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
Sometimes, it all starts with the dress. Jenny Packham’s ‘Eden’ gown was the main source of inspiration for Kalista and Kyle’s whimsical California wedding, which took place at Sausalito’s Headlands Center for the Arts. The 1920′s-inspired nuptials celebrated Beat poets, library books, a love of beer, and all things eco-friendly—and we couldn’t be more in love with the unique spin on romance. Special thanks to Sequins and Candy Photography for sharing the images with us today! You can find even more details in the complete gallery.
Kalista and Kyle are the ultimate California couple. They met on a sailboat six years before their wedding, and, according to the bride, fell in love almost instantly. “We connected on our mutual craving for adventure,” she says. Planning their intimate arts center wedding was its own wonderful adventure—the couple created almost every decorative element of the day (including the graphic invitations and limoncello favors) themselves. They exchanged vows under a favorite quote from Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, and, after the wedding, planted the citrus and birch trees they married in front of in their home backyard.
* Amber + Brett: A Chic California Barn Wedding by Weston Neuschafer Photography
Posted on April 4th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings.
A grand vineyard wedding in the California sunset for just under 50 guests—sounds like an unforgettable and intimate way to kick off a lifetime of love, don’t you think? Amber and Brett selected Thacher Winery as the site of their September nuptials, and, with the help of Korinna Peterson of Le Festin Events, planned a spectacular country-chic affair from their Brooklyn apartment. Thanks to Weston Neuschafer Photography for sharing his dreamy images of the day with us—we love, love, love the way everything seems to softly glow from within.
Amber and Brett first became friends as middle school teachers in Austin, Texas. Life eventually drew Brett back to the East Coast, and the pair drifted in and out of separate relationships and circumstances until a chance reunion at a Teach for America summit in Washington, DC. During a visit to NYC soon after, Brett told Amber that she was the girl he wanted to share his future with. The rest, as they say, is history—the pair has been living together in Brooklyn ever since!
