Ashley and Chris were married at Calistoga Ranch in Calistoga, Calif. on September 22. “We met five years ago at work, we instantly were drawn to each other’s dry sense of humor,” Ashley said. “There has not been a day that has gone by since the day we met that we don’t make each other laugh!” The bride wore a backless lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with a ruffled skirt, accessorized with a chapel-length veil, while the groom wore black suit, accessorized with a white tie. “My husband didn’t want groomsmen, but I wasn’t getting married without my bests by my side!” she said. “Sure, it’s not traditional, but who cares?” Bridesmaids wore long pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. “Guests arrived by party bus and were immediately greeted with custom pre-ceremony cocktails and parasols to beat the 80-degree heat,” Ashley said. The outdoor nuptials took place underneath a rustic branch arch hung with a crystal chandelier. “Napa is such a gorgeous place to get married, and I really wanted to enhance the natural beauty with a ton of flowers,” she said. The newlyweds best advice? “Keep the wedding about you and your future husband because at the end of the day thats all that matters,” Ashley said. She was intent on having a sheer tent for the reception. But because of the shape of the lawn, it had to be custom-made. “I really wanted a rustic romantic wedding with classic touches that would never go out of style,” she said. “I didn’t want to look back at pictures and think ‘oh that was a trend.'” Tables were decorated with mercury glass centerpieces, lace runners, and family-style meals. “Post-dinner, we went into the Wine Cave, which was set up with lounge furniture, lighting, an open bar, and a DJ!” Ashley said. A Ruby & Violet Real Wedding
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Talk about romantic… Vancouver natives, Dianne and Richard, had a destination wedding at the Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley… the ceremony was lovely, against the beautiful landscape of the resort.. the reception was utterly exquisite, filled with candlelight.  But most of all, we’re swooning over the ruby and violet color palette. Many congratulations to the happy couple and a special thanks to Briana Marie for sending this over!  See more photos in our Real Wedding Gallery.

Dianne and Richard are the sweetest couple you can imagine, and wanted to travel from their hometown Vancouver, BC, to Napa Valley for their November wedding.  Food and wine are very important to them, so they selected the Calistoga Ranch for their special day.  In addition to amazing cuisine and paired wine, the resort features intimacy and luxury accommodations that Dianne and Richard wanted for their guests.  This is an especially close family, because Dianne’s twin sister is married to Richard’s first cousin and best friend, making this a true family affair!  There were twenty-eight guests in attendance, including two-week-old baby Isla who received her passport within hours of the wedding and traveled with her mom, the bride’s sister and Matron of Honor, to arrive at the last minute!

Two weeks later Dianne and Richard hosted an at-home reception for over a hundred friends and family members.  As the bride describes, “It was a bit crazy at the time trying to organize two events within two weeks of each other, but it was an amazing night to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and family and have everyone be a part of our happiness.”  -Suzy Berberian
