Lara and Louis were married at Les Ancêtres, Auberge & Restaurant in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada on August 17. The bride wore a sparkly, 1920s-inspired gown by Jenny Packham with a braided up-do. She accessorized with metallic platform sandals. The groom donned a classic black tuxedo with a white rose boutonniere.  ”The ceremony was simple, led by two of our close friends,” Lara said. “And our 18-month-old son was up there with us the whole time.” After the ceremony, the couple’s 160 guests sat at long tables where they enjoyed the scenic view. “Our main goal for the wedding–lots of speeches, including spontaneous fake opera, a few surprise dance offs and late night courses of food to keep the energy up,” Lara said. After dinner guests enjoyed a two-tiered buttercream-frosted cake topped with flowers. There was more to satisfy guests’ sweet tooth- a candy buffet complete with take-out boxes for after-wedding munchies. “Neither of us had too clear of a vision for our wedding except for a very funny party with all our loved ones,” Lara said. It seems as though their wish came true! See the full board here.

Alexandra and Josh were married in a traditional church ceremony at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic followed by a reception at LIUNA Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on October 12. The bride wore a textured v-neck wedding gown with capped sleeves, accessorized with a greenery wreath in her loose curls, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a bow tie and pocket square. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched short neutral chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, dahlias, astilbes, and berries wrapped in lace. Following the vows, the newlyweds exited down the stairs amongst a sea of bubbles blown by guests. Inside the ballroom, escort cards were displayed in a bed of pearls against vintage doors that said, “Your seat awaits you,” and words of wisdom were written on cards to be opened on milestone anniversaries. Reception tables were decorated with sparkly sequin linens, over 125 pillar candles, mirror picture frame numbers, and jars of honey at each place setting — a sweet favor! In addition to the three-tiered buttercream wedding cake, there was also a mini unfrosted or “naked” wedding cake. Dancing continued throughout the night all thanks to a disco ball shining bright from the ceiling, but it was the fireworks display that really wowed. See the full board here.

Amy + Dan: A DIY Sentimental Spring Canadian Backyard Wedding By Marie Skerl Photography

Amy and Dan were married in a traditional church ceremony at Cedar Park followed by an outdoor reception at Cammidge House. ”I am passionate about taking care of the environment, so I wanted our wedding to be green and low impact,” Amy said. “All of our flowers and most of our decor were foraged . . . all our table cloths and napkins were bought second hand, and then given back to the stores we bought them from.” The bride wore a lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her grandmother’s necklace, while the groom wore a dark gray vest and pants (no jacket), accessorized with a black tie. ”We wanted the wedding to capture our individual personalities,” she said. “On one side of the stage we objects and furniture that represented Dan (grandpa’s old rocking chair, guitar, film projector) and on the other side were things that represented me (watering can, painting, grandparent’s old trunk). At the end of the ceremony, our wedding party moved all the pieces to form one ‘living room’ set.” How unique is that? Guests were greeted at the reception with a welcome table that featured wild flower seed packets and jars of homemade honey. The tent was decorated with lots and lots of hearts hanging from the ceiling, table numbers with quotes and sayings, and a make-your-own drink station. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Make sure all the details for the wedding are written down so the bride and groom, wedding planner, parents, and helpers are all on the same page,” Amy said. Seana + Ryan: A Shabby Chic Sage Green and Pink Fall Canadian Vineyard Wedding By Kings + Queens

Seana and Ryan were married at Southbrook Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada on October 19. The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with a beaded bodice, accessorized with an ivory sash and blush peep-toe pumps, while the groom wore a dark gray suit, accessorized with a black bow tie. Bridesmaids donned sage green long chiffon dresses and carried eco-friendly bouquets featuring white garden roses, scabiosa pods, succulents, and dusty millers. Groomsmen added a pop of color to their ensembles with green socks and matching monogrammed cufflinks. Guests were transported to and from the ceremony in a red double-decker bus. How fun! Even though the rain made for the nuptials to be inside rather than outside, the soon-to-be newlyweds were all smiles. The reception was decorated with draped fabric ceilings, gray linens, and black chiavari chairs, but it was the dessert display that was the absolute eye-catcher! Notice the cake pops, cookies, cupcakes, and vintage decor elements like the typewriter, scale, and badminton rackets? See the full board here.
