* Lindsay + Luke: A Romantic Backyard Barbecue Wedding by Stacey Hedman
Posted on April 23rd, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
This dreamy East coast couple, married in Massachusetts last August in an inspiring al fresco affair. The sun-filled event was held poolside at Lindsay’s family home, and emphasized vibrant summer florals, amazing food, the connection of friends and family, and lots of dancing! With a romantic backyard wedding on their minds, the couple added a barbecue reception element, and when it was all said and done, a casually stylish and charming day ensued. We’re swooning over Lindsay’s laid-back bridal style (gown by J. Crew), the gorgeous organic blooms (by Petal Flower Design), the touch-of-prep East Coast vibe, and Stacey Hedman’s incredible visual depiction of their love story!

Lindsay and Luke met in Boston; she was a ‘wingwoman’ for a friend of hers, and he was a ‘wingman’ for a friend of his. As fate would have it, they were the two to find love! The couple said their vows at the First Parish Church in Concord, then headed into the soft summer sunlight for portraits. The bride’s family home was an idyllic locale for a classy backyard celebration; florals and candles floated in the pool and guests gathered on the porch for a spread of coastal cuisine.
* Robyn + Jamie: A Boho Hippie Wedding by Rebecca Amber Photography

This carefree British Columbia wedding is exactly what we want to see now that it’s hitting 80 degrees in DC! Set at the all-kinds-of gorgeous Sea Breeze Lodge at Hornby Island, Robyn and Jamie’s waterside celebration is the perfect example of how energized and unforgettable a DIY wedding can truly be (the couple called on family and friends to help with everything from making the bouquet to officiating the ceremony).
“We just wanted a fun, fresh vibe and lots of bright colors,” says bride Robyn. Mission accomplished, we think! Thanks to Rebecca Amber Photography for sharing the day with us—we guarantee you’ll be gunning for a trip to shore halfway through the story.
* A Bold Beach Affair by Lindsey Gomes Photography
Posted on January 15th, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
He loves the ocean, while she adores quirky bright colors. After Nick and Piper got engaged in March of 2011, the duo set out to plan a modern, bold beach affair. Piper immediately called her sister, Niki Martin of Events Redefined, who helped her to quickly book some favorite vendors. These fresh photos by Lindsey Gomes gorgeously portray their ‘mission accomplished’ and exude such a vibrance and joy.
With a year and a half engagement, Piper had plenty of time to fall in love with one bridal gown, then change her mind completely and opt for another that suited her style even better. In the end, she was so glad that she made the switch! The maids dressed in mix-and-match, deep sea blue frocks and carried bright contrast bouquets designed by April Flowers.
Under a birchwood archway amongst mini terrariums of apricot blooms, Nick and Piper married in a completely customized ceremony. Revealing their personal, handwritten vows to one another was the highlight of the day!
Post-ceremony, it was all about relaxing, fun, and dancing! The laid back couple looked to April to create a fresh, relaxed ambiance with textured greens and wooden box centerpieces and to Niki to incorporate that blissful beachy vibe into the evening. I’m utterly refreshed by all of this great color and oceanside style; super big thanks to Lindsey Gomes for sending this charmer our way!
