* Glitter + Glam
Posted on September 9th, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Do It Yourself, Things we heart.
After getting a few projects from our awesome experts with inclusions of baking glitter and confetti, I’ve been on a sparkle kick! So there I went hunting around the web to find the glitteriest (not a word) and most glamorous pretties I could find. There are few fab DIYs in the mix below too, so take a peek and enjoy!

I just love a good project… I’m musing about this rustic wood centerpiece (& escort card) tutorial we received from the *fabulous* Victoria Hudgins last week.
Here’s a peek into how to get that oh-so-rustic reception charm, but you can catch the full article here. Like a cable knit sweater on a fall day, engraved wood emits a feeling of cozy warmth.
According to Victoria, engraving is addicting- so plug in those wood burners and let the fun begin!

Ohhh.. psst! A new issue of Victoria’s magazine Styled. arrived this week. It is so awesome… it’s filled with projects, yummy recipes, figgy things, and fall things. And isn’t the cover just gorgeous?!

* Succulents as Centerpieces
Posted on April 16th, 2009 by Margaret. Filed under Flowers, Wedding Inspiration.
Looking to reduce the carbon footprint of your wedding? Opt for eco-friendly centerpieces such as succulents and/or cacti and the earth (and your wallet) will thank you. I went with a mix of succulents and cut flowers for my centerpieces and it was one of the smartest wedding decisions I made. After the big day my new husband and I replanted all of my centerpieces and one year later, my Southern Californian garden is filled with big, beautiful succulents. (I actually had too many plants and had to give some to my sister who now has them in her garden.)
Call me sentimental, but I love the symbolism of these plants growing in the garden that my husband and I built together. Every time I see them I think of our wedding and how special it was. And because you can cut and replant these succulents, I give them to friends and family all the time. It’s a simple act that makes me feel like I’m spreading joy.
