Andra + Kevin: A Gold and Pink Church Wedding by Nadia D. Photography
Posted by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings

There’s no time quite like the beginning of May for a flowery wedding! Today we’re sharing a formal cherry blossom-inspired wedding from Atlanta, Georgia. Andra and Kevin worked with a palette of pear green, soft pink, and glittery gold to create their fun and feminine celebration. From the moss initials on the church door to the bride’s beautiful Badgley Mischka shoes, we are loving every detail! Thanks to Nadia D. Photography for sending along the photos.

Believe it or not, Andra and Kevin bonded over math—he was her calculus tutor in college! The duo moved to Atlanta after graduating from the University of Georgia, and decided to cement the new city as home by holding their ceremony at the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. Their reception was at the Cherokee Town Club in Buckhead, and every beautiful glimmering detail was planned by the bride and her mother.  “April in Atlanta means cherry blossoms,” says Andra, and the branches overflowed from every table (and the cake!). Touches of mercury glass and gold sparkle rounded out the elegant decor.

A Cherry Blossom-Infused D.C. Real Wedding by Michelle Lindsay Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

If you haven’t seen this week’s cherry blossom-infused real wedding by Michelle Lindsay Photography, we’ve put together some highlights for you just below. Elizabeth and Andrew envisioned a day that was classic with a few dramatic twists.  They went classically romantic with a pink, black and white palette, while the bold cherry blossom décor by Sidra Forman was dramatic and breathtaking. Enjoy!

Elizabeth’s gorgeous, two-piece  Monique Lhullier gown and veil featured sweet daisy accents, (floral replicas were later found on the cake)!  The bridesmaids looked formal and sophisticated in black beauties by Amsale.  There was a long, glorious aisle for the bridal party to walk down at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in D.C.

For the reception, the couple celebrated their love of dinner parties and D.C!  In fact, they met at a dinner party just after Andrew moved to town. On the night of their first meeting, they spent the night in true D.C. fashion, discussing politics and drinking wine. The rest, as they say, is history!  The gorgeous cherry blossom reception centerpieces paid tribute to the city, and the elegant king’s tables created an intimate dinner party feel.

Elizabeth and Andrew love history and tradition- the bride wore a sixpence in her shoe that has been passed down through three generations and their cake topper was a 50 year old heirloom!  Needless to say, a venue that exhibited the history of our nation’s Capitol was perfect- the Hay Adams provided views of all the monuments on the mall.

What could be better?  Springtime in D.C., cherry blossoms everywhere, and a sweet Monique Lhuillier gown?  We’re all over it!  The superb event planning by Jessica at Simply Chic Events ensured the day flowed without flaw.  See more from Elizabeth and Andrew’s gorgeous wedding day here…
